Interesting post. I use Vista Ultimate at home and Vista Business at work and neither have been particularly trouble free! Win XP Pro is a great OS (irrespective of however much you hate Microsoft and Bill Gates) and come 2008, if they haven't sorted out the annoying bugs with Vista, XP will definitely be missed.

I use XP at work, as does everyone. But I use Vista at home, not without problems though.
