Yellow engine VS Turbo

Just been looking at BB Tuning website and they have a yellow series engine for the Williams for around £4-5k. It tells you all the stuff they do to it, but surely for about the same amount of money a turbo upgrade would be a better idea?

Thoughts and comments?

for £4k-£5k its not worth it i reckon

how much BHP is it meant to increase it by?

a Turbo with that amount of money could produce a lot more power

thats what I thought... no mention of power which suggests that it is one of these experimental power mods that could just end up being a complete waste of time and money... although it does sound nice id imagine this would de-value my car no end.

That price is for a full rebuild and major work

The cheapest turbo conversion, which is almost the same price, doesnt include any sort of rebuild, the one that does is £7k+ !!

With the engine conversions that involve a rebuild you are buying reliable power in the long term

Very true

No point going for a turbo conversion unless you can afford to rebuild at the same time though in my opinion

Why bother when you might never get full potential, or only have it a year max before it goes BANG?

i had the same work as the red engine with somone local, but different cams and no chip, and it cost me under £2k that included new clutch, gearbox reconditioned, 15 new valves and MOT.

Bloody good value!

I doubt youd see more than an extra 20bhp from the yellow engine. I speak from experience (though not with BB)

Itd be fair to say that the yellow spec wouldnt be as nice to drive either considering the peaky cams etc.... Throttle bodies might be cheaper alternative for you though.

am i right in thinking over 4k ansd still no throttle bodies???????? is a big list of sundries meant to look like some kind of expensive spec?, its nice to have it all changed il admit but you want power power power for your money:cool:
