yellow headlights

Did the Mk1 Clio ever come whith yellow headlights in france, like many other french cars do?

I thought they were just painted with this gloop stuff? The french reckon you get better visibility in fog and the like - sounds like gonads to me!

I have seen bmws and french cars with it, the complete headlamp that is. I think it would look cool on my white car...
