will the ps3 play any region games be it jap or us version?

also do you get stung on import when buying from yesasia?

Nope its Region locked so to play Jap or US games youll need a Jap or US PS3..... Dunno if ther is or is going to be Any Region free games like on xBox 360

I was about to post the same thing... BlueRay disks being region-free too. Note... normal DVD's are still region encoded as are PS2/PS1 games.

I read things wrong...At this time all games are region free but soon enough there will be region locking on Games and the Blu-Ray Dvd

The Blu-Ray movies can have region locking applied to them buy Sony have said that the games will remain region free. The only form of region locking a game may suffer from is which servers you can access for online play, the games will run on PS3's from other regions.

PS2 games are region locked to the console.
