Hello and welcome from the ClioSport Admin Team :)

Yes I've run them, mediocre tyre.

The Toyos are much much worse.

Have a look at the price of some Vredestein Sessantas in your size if they do them.

Don't skimp to much on tyres. You'll end up with a good handling car feeling crap. By that point it'll be too late.

Depends on your budget then. But Yoko Pradas in the wet are shocking.

Had them for 2years on my ph1. Paid £28 a corner from demon thieves at the time...

Above average in the dry, progressive not snappy in the wet IME. Just take it easy and you'll be fine.

However.. As suggested, hankook v12 evos are a cracking tyre.

I love my Parada Spec II tyres, great in the dry, fine in the wet, but definitely don't like standing water!

They do breakaway in the wet quite early, but it's very progressive.

I want Contis next I think myself (not too sure if they make 3s in 195/50/15 though), or even PE3s, but I'm on 15" wheels so quite a bit cheaper.

i find paradas fine in the wet. theyre perfectly priced for how well they do the job of being a tyre. if you want loads better pay more. im trying out hankook v12s at the moment but havnt done many miles yet

For a budget tyre they are reasonable all rounders really, slightly more dry biased than wet, but not dangerous at either.

I had the hankook v12's on my 182 and other than the soft sidewalls they are really good all round tyre.

Got paradas on my 172 wet grip isnt as bad as others on here would have you believe but I haven't had a chance to push the car properly on them yet as the shocks have had it anyway.

I never understood people pushing the car in the wet. Guess it's just me.

You're the first person on here who's actually echoed what I've been saying about these for years !

I was actually going to write except trackdays but I thought people would know what I meant.

If you mean just on the road, its not really a great idea truely pushing the handling limits in the dry either really, with the high chance of grip variations in the tarmac or spillages or someone pulling out etc.
I just always assume anyone who feels they have really tested a tyre has done so on track.

Personally I really liked running these.

Great dry grip for the price, felt like they got really hot and sticky and even at the limits of grip didn't just snap. You can really "play" with a car with these on (imo of course). In the wet they're not great, but they don't just let go, very progressive as said.

If you're not trying to set lap times and just want a bit of fun, these are great IMO. Too much grip is boring ;)

I think thats something that a lot of people miss with trackday toys.
If you havent got a lot of power (which if you have an N/A clio you havent by definition) then having too much grip can make huge sections of circuit just be too easy, foot to the floor all the way through and nowhere near feeling the car doing anything etc.

So a tyre with not a lot of grip but thats progressive can be good fun.

My thoughts exactly chip!

Can't see the point of running R888's on a clio. There is no fun involved and very little skill needed.

Which is why I really like the Parada's. I really felt like I could literally push the tyre as far as it would go, keep on pushing enjoying the fact it was letting go, then come off a bit and pull things back under control. People are too quick to define a good tyre as one that just grips and grips and grips.

I had them on my turbo MX-5. They put 240bhp down fine through a 195 width tyre.

I never had a problem with them.

Yokohama Ad08 are amazing, good in the wet too. Really good on the track.

On black circles you can get all Yokohama tyres on 0% interest too!

wht about toyo proxes 4 ??

I have Proxes 4's on my 172 now and they are a great tyre good in the dry and no problem in the rain

Cant see why so many on here slate them. For the money they are a cracking tyre!

course there is better out there too....

I agree fully, I'm stunned by the way some people drive with no extra care in the wet

Did 200 odd miles in a 172 with Federal 595 RSR's on in disgraceful rain and they performed faultlessly. Safest I've felt on the motorway in the wet, in a clio, ever.

And leave no extra distance for braking when they're right behind you!

I have a massive hate of tailgaters even in the dry, its just such a moronic thing to do, if people are going to take risks with their life, at least do something exciting to have the risk not just sit on another cars bumper up the motorway for hour after hour!

Running them at the moment. The way people talk about them you'd think they're like driving on ice in the rain. They're not a great wet tyre at all but only if you're trying to make a point about it. They offer very good dry performance but tend to die down a fair bit after the first 500 miles or so. Can't moan for the price though

I don't think a lot of people even realise they're doing it tbh
