Your 1/4 mile times (Proven)

I'm interested, as I plan to take my Cup to the strip next month as I used to with my 206 GTi. My best time in the 206 GTi was 16.08, I would like to think the Cup will beat this time by about 1 second.

If you get lower then 15.2 then you got nothing to worry about.

Personaly cant see a standard one getting 14.5.

I did a 14.5 @96 last year in my cup with inlets, exhaust and filter and no stripping

I did a 14.1 @102 this year, back and pass seats out, no sound deadening, 240 bhp, r888's, but loads of traction problems with the new tyres. (haven't got used to launching with them yet) and a very hot engine(few teething probs)

Daz

PS all at santa pod

That seems awfully fast for a standard 172 cup. I have done 15.1 at Santa Pod in my dad's 220bhp Datsun 240z track car which is a hell of a lot faster than my cup! If that times correct, well done mate.

  MERCEDES CLS AMG
Ran a 13.4 @ 106mph with the Clio in F4R guise @ York dragstrip. The fastest N/A cup owned by Timmo ( very few mods but a bloody good driver ) ran a 13.9 @ 99 mph.

In TT guise my QTD was 11.7 @ 117 mph done at Santa Pod in 2006. Have all time slips to prove and a trophy ;)

The car did a 3.92 to 60 mph at the GTi International VW show the same year.

What spec you running?

Is having a wider front track on the car a advantage when it comes to traction off the line??

Im planning on ditching the Speedline 2118's (et38.5) and going back to the stock OZ F1's (et43) to save weight.

Wondering if i might encounter traction issues with the narrower track of the car

  Nippy white cup
As bog standard with about 700miles my Cup got a 15.0 something, few weeks later with a cone filter and rsport ecu (full interior) I got a 14.4....another few weeks with decat/full exhaust and rear seats out I got a 14.17 @ 97.5mph.

Haven't run it in its current state but did when I had a lower than standard limiter and managed a 14.2 @ 99mph so without the limiter I would imagine it would be slightly quicker

Chris

  182 ff with cup pack's
managed a 14.3 @ 95mph at york raceway last year with the back seats out, de-cat, miltek, and panel filter, car a 182 ff btw.

morky on here ran a 13.3 the same day in his 172 with nos

Some fast times there boys. 13.303 @ 108.40mph 2.3 60ft. No rear interior, full front interior Mk1 Renault Clio Hybrid 2.0 N/A :)

Cheers, it is a true time, I was there with Chris n Nic that day he was running very low 14s then, think it was last year shortly after I bought it, was impressed with it to say the least, this was at York
