Loads of games mentioned in here are 2015 games...
Uncharted 4 for me, but looking back I don't think it's been a special year, lots of technically great games like BF1, Overwatch etc, but not many games that truly inspired me, maybe we were just spoilt by Witcher 3 last year and it's set a bar that is going to take a while to be pushed higher.
I've just bought the Last Guardian, hoping it will be as good as reviews suggest, and then maybe it'll be my best game of '16 - it's one of the few games of the year where the concept excites me.
