Titanium ph1 turbo
Ok.. decided to put together my entire car CV with some pics... enjoy.. share yours?
1996 - pass test, Metro 1.0L 5 door... lasted about 9 months before someone crashed into the side of me and wrote it off.
1997 - aged 18 I got a Vauxhall Nova GTE 1.6 ... big upgrade and a bit more street cred.. within 6 months it's stolen from the Metrocentre in Newcastle and found smashed up and burned out the same evening.
1997 - Stolen Nova then replaced with my first R5 GT Turbo (red in colour).. being young and stupid I bought the first one I saw which wasn't in a good way, although to be fair it was stupidly fast when it was working.
1999 - Bought a pearl white R5 GTT going as spares, but instead swapped all the good bits from my red one into it and made that my main car. One night on the A1 running 25psi boost one of my piston liners split and resulted in a full engine rebuild, which I did over the winter.. car back on the road, all good.
2003 - Renault release the Clio Cup... bought this one brand new... my Dad got a bit jealous so bought himself a brand new WR1.
2004 - Wishing I'd not sold my R5 Turbo, despite the problems and downtime it loads of fun.. found a 1 lady owner 100% standard black 5 GTT on eBay and won it for £1500..
2007 - Cup is sold our first boy is here now, swapped for a 'Renault Scenic'... still got the 5 turbo in the garage so decides to do a full engine out/rebuild job with all brand new parts.
2009 - R5 sold in favour of a vx220 turbo .. (argh.. what was I thinking).. sold it 1 year later, far too impractical as a day-to-day car.. and too much cost to just keep in the garage for weekends.
2010 - VW Golf TDI Y-reg... (no pic needed).. something cheap and diesel for now.
2012 - Enough is enough, need something fun again... looked for a mint Phase 1 172 ... need something more reliable than a R5 Turbo and wanted the Phase 1 as I prefer it's looks. Future classic!
