Your Thoughts Please.....................

Front bumper is on order, now I just need the rest i.e Skirts, Rear Bumper and Spoiler, I am after a Jap look, I know most on this board hate the Jap look but a I am after something completely different, any thoughts or useful links?

Do not have to be designed for the Clio should be able to modify most stuff for the Saxos, except for the back bumper that would probably be too much hassle!

i like the jap thing but theres nothing much for the clio, think PGI?? have a nice jap (ish) front bumper.

I have sorted out the front bumper, it is not designed for the clio I am modifying it to fit, it is just the rest that I need, saw a wicked spoiler at Donny South on a Pug 106.

There is a heavily modified Clio 2 in Octobers edition of Revs magazine. The owner went over the top with the rear spoiler I think.

Yeah most would say (including me) that the Jap style doesnt really work well on a Clio, chunkiness is more in order rather than swooping lines and stuff. Still anyone who puts in the hours to get their Clio different gets my respect.

Dont know if this is your style but it seems like youre willing to experiment so what about this: a little while ago I was thinking of doing a front and rear end respray to tidy up a few bits of dodgy paint so I set about thinking how could I modify the existing bumper to make it different, and perhaps more functional? The basics were that at the rear Id cut a section out of the middle in a Fiesta Zetec kind of style, with a fibreglass diffuser tray coming up out of the spare wheel space, this would be primed and sprayed to look like a one piece custom bumper with an integral diffuser. I always think the Saxo style diffusers look too bolt-on. The front bumper was gonna be in the VW/Audi house style - three big intakes across the bottom of a deep bumper. Not hard to achieve really, chop out the bars across the radiator, plus chop out the foglights and recesses next to them. Mine are chopped so far forward that the mesh sits flat to the front surface of the bumper but it wouldnt be too hard to fibreglass some really deep scoops either side of the rad. On the offside theres not a lot of room to play with but the nearside is a great place for an integral ramscoop connection to feed an airbox or induction kit.

I like the idea of the back bumper will have to have a word in the ear of the bodyshop, if all goes to plan I have stolen a wicked idea of a bodyshop, just need to put in a little more planning and it should be there! And I have still got think of a colour!! New post for that one though!

erm jap looks best kept to jap cars imo, clio will look far better with smooth bodyworks, actually i remember seeing a clio 16v with a R5 aftermarket back bumper (with lines going down the bottom)? (is a purple one feature in a mag a couple of months back), that look pretty good, will find and post the pic 2morrw

It is being fully smoothed as well, i.e the bump strips, the roof rack mounts, the tailgate and maybe the handles if I can get a price on a door pop to add to my alarm
