Yozza fitted on the RB

Gez

  Yozza'd 182 RB 188bhp
Right bought a full Yozza system the other week. Fully heat wrapped it and fitted it to the car. Looks and sounds amazing but doesnt sit that well in the bumper but ill sort that out.
Got a Quick pic but il get more tonight and a video.

heat wrapping an entire exhaust system draws the hot exhaust gasses through the exhaust better, drawing more air through the engine. i think it was first used on Pintos.

looks good. look forward to videos!

good old YS system is amazing.

heat wrap hasnt been done that much, you must be a trend setter :rasp:

We heat wrapped the manifold in my old rally escort but that was only because it glowed cherry red and would melt anything that got in its way

Why the heat wrap?
keeps the exhaust hot and helps gasses out quicker.
When i 1st fitted the yozza, it was a bit raspy and tinny but with it wrapped it sounds more solid and deeper.
was going to wrap the maifold too but its too awkward to get down there, ill wait till clutch or something goes and the subframe is off!
well happy with the power increase, decat too!! and the sound on full throttle is immense. it can be driven quiety at low speeds but anything over 75mph its noisy!!!

I want a Yozza so badly but eberytime one comes up someone always has more money to offer than me :( Dam CS Millionaire's

  RS RIP
and your question is???

Heat wrapping from front to end will not be cheap.. i think that was the comment/question.

A pain to do to i've understood. You can't leave any gaps, tape will let go in those places. Or is it just the bit on the end where i can see a gap ?

probably got your centre section too low hence why it doesn't fit perfectly!

as my french friend demonstrates here how it should fit!

LOL, bet that heat wrap increases power my 0.1 of a bhp, but then the weight of the wrap uses that 0.1 of a bhp lol.

Cant see the point in this at all even more so because you have not wrapped the manifold. TBH that wrap will just fall off in a couple of 1000 miles and you will be constantly tie wrapping it back up.

Nice, although heat wrapping is a bad idea. It gets wet and holds the moisture, which reduces the lifespan of the exhaust.

impossible. exhaust is hot, any water dries very quickly. its always dry.

I had it on my puntoGt exhaust for 3years and it never rotted.
I will do the manifold, need to get some 1" wrap.

Lovely job, look forward to hearing the vid!
how long did it take to heatwrap?

Pretty much. lol at wrapping the whole exhaust and leaving out the one bit thats worth doing. Leaving bits exposed causes hot and cold spots.

You know of this exhaust? got it off mattx2c i think. who and when made it? and whats different to the ones off the shelf now?

yeah i helped design/develop it LOL!!

not much different really, the "bend" into the rear silencer is a bit different on the production version, and on yours you have a "bolt up" flange on the decat/centre section joint, apart from that its the same
