Yozza fitted today!!! Pic Heavy

  Civic Type S GT
Well got my yozza delivered today then went straight to Morecambe to get it fitted. Hit a few problems when fitting it but nothing that couldn't be fixed as you'll see.

So here's how the car looked.

Got it to Westgate Tyres/Powerflow and up on the ramp. I knew that my exhaust was knackerd and had 5 holes in it, it was rotten! So glad I had finally got a yozza!

Also found that the driver's side rear damper was absolutly covered in oil as I have a leak somewhere. :S

So off with the old, which I must say doesn't half have some weight to it!

Then what I thought would be no hassle job to go on.
Photo341.jpg

Didn't sit right at all.

Then after some tweaking around still didn't sit right.

The tips just woundn't sit right in the gaps and when you straightened up the back box the tips looked pi$$ed. They said it was a real pain to fit, so what should of been a straight forward job turned out not to be!
So some ideas got thrown around then it got filtered down to 'Right, lets heat it up, get some slack into it, cut off the support bracket and cut off the left tip, then weld it back on!'

All in all I was suprised at how the exhaust didn't fit as well as I thought it would of done, alot of people on here say how much it was a perfect no messing swap but not in this case, although I have seen a few people's reviews where they have had to go back to get it straightened up.

The guys did a fantastic job and I have done a write up in the specialist experiences.http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=481149

Now the exhaust is sitting perfect and i've got to say it is fecking awesome! It sounds great and the drive home was great, smiles all round!:D

I havn't got a pic of finished result but I will put one on first thing tomorrow when it's light!

Hope you all like it, I certainly do! Look forward to hearing what some of you have to say.

Thanks for reading. Cal.

Brave man, mine was fine when i got it the other day.

Do you find it less 'raspy' than the youtube vids (even the ones with cats)? I do which is a bit disappointing tbh, wonder if they changed the design recently.

glad you like it, looks like it was a pain to get sitting right but at least it worked out.
I would get that leak fixed next ;)

Mine didn't sit 100% perfect but sod cutting it for a minor change. If I were as unhappy as you I'd have returned it.

Sounds alot different outside than it does inside.

It was the powerflow guys who were not happy with how it sat, it was bugging them more than it was bugging me, so hats off to them for doing such a great job! There's other people out there who would fit the exhaust and as long as it's all connected would just leave it c**k eyed and say 'there you go pal, exhaust fitted, where's my money'.
Main thing is is that it's sitting straight and perfect now and i'm happy!

I havn't given it full revs yet to hear the rasp. What I did do though was take my de-cat pipe off and put the cat back in.

Very brave cutting it... Fair play.
I had the same problem, rang up Yozza and they said they were made in a jig, and couldnt be wrong. So I just stuck some old pipes, and cable tied them in the exhaust mounts, and it fits fine.
The only problem you have now is that if anything goes wrong with the exhaust in the next year then the warranty wont cover it.

Mine didnt line up straight, Fred got me to hold it in shape, he pushed the cat around abit i think and it sat perfect. Even better when i had the new exhaust mounts on the next week!

Looking good!

Looks like a pain and very brave to cut it apart! Yozza's sound awesome though, and if you want to go deaf then get a de-cat! :D

looks like i should include fitting instructions with them! 100% no need to cut them to fit them

sometimes you have to adjust the cat bolts, but that's it, Dave63 had his from the same batch and i fitted that one, no bother

in its lifetime!

jeez extreme cutting it :s

lol! Seem like a good idea at the time. I'm running statistics through my head, theres never any complaints of the system messing up after a while of owning it, it's stainless steel so it's strong and my last stainless steel system was built like a brick $hit house and had no problems. Fingers crossed!!

It'll be fine, had mine on for the last 2yrs, no probs whatsoever.
Never heard of a yozza exhaust going wrong...

Nice one Cal, I went the exact same place to get a custom decat fitted. They are top guys.

Mines never sat 100% right , i think the rubbers in the exhaust brackets are buggered on mine , i'll get em sorted soon . Gonna put the cat back on on Friday for the MOT , it'll be interesting to hear if it's any quieter without the decat .

b****cks to cutting it tho' lol , brave man . The build quality is superb though so i doubt you'll ever have any issues where you'll need the warranty .

Of course it will be quieter without a decat, on my 172 the de-cat doubled the volume at certain rpm levels

Depending on how good the welding is on the adjustment. Like everyone else has said, you adjust with the rubbers.

Been out in a trophy with a yozza and that sounds so nice.

I'd never let 2 blokes with a welding torch loose on my brand new exhaust. I've had bad experiences.

If it sits alright for you now though, fair enough.

  Better than yours. C*nt.
What a shower! Anyone with half a car mechanic's brain should be able to spot the MASSIVE amounts of movement in the two rear mounts! Sounds like a case of "any excuse to make some money off this mug and **** off an exhaust because we didn't make it".

At least it's on and you're happy now, hey...

:dapprove: I carn't believe they cut a yozza exhaust. Did you fit it on new mounts ? cus if there already worn when you need to replace them its gonna sit wonky again.

thats crazy man, a bit on the extreme side to align an exhaust that tiny bit!

but if your happy fair play, looks good pal! hoping to get my btb fitted tomorrow, hopefully the mounts arent fookered

  Whichever has fuel
Now you've cut it, have you not just voided any warranty that came with it??
