Zapco Amps> S,Q or Power

Are the Zapco amps aimed at S,Q or just high power applications. Any good?

I want to power some 5" CDT Audio spkrs + 12" sub soon. Im after SQ and so looking at some quailty amps.

Well you cant go far wrong with Zapco products. They are good for both power and SQ. The Reference range is probably the best to look at for powering components and an SQ sub setup.

Im looking for two 2ch amps between 2x70+ and 1x250+rms.

zapco are one of the best amps on the market, u cant really beat them, i would bite someones hands off to get one!

The best option for you is probably the Reference 350 which puts out a healthy 100w x 2 and 350x1 both at 4ohms.

The normal price of one of those amps is £380 but luckily we sell them for £320 to Cliosport members

do zapco make a mono block ??? if so how much and what power etc?

Zapco only make 2 proper monoblocks but they also make some very powerful customiseable 2 channel and 4 channel amps which is called the C2K series.

The main 3 are the following:

C2K-3.0X - 75x2 @ 4ohm stereo,150x2 @ 2ohm stereo, 300x2 @ 1ohm stereo, 600x1 @ 2ohm mono - £565

C2K-6.0x - 150x2 @ 4ohm stereo, 300x2 @ 2ohm stereo, 600x2 @ 1ohm stereo, 1200x2 @ 2ohm mono - £850

C2K-9.0XD - Class D - 300x2 @ 4ohm stereo, 2000x1 @ 4 ohm bridged - £1350

4KW - 1000x4 @ 2 or 1 ohm, 5000 RMS when used in Dual mono mode - £5000

The 9.0XD can also be bought in a 1ohm stereo/2ohm mono version to match it up to whichever sub/s you are running......which is handy!!!

You can also get EQs, 3 and 4 way Crossovers, D/A Converters and loads of products with something called Symbilink which is basically Firewire technology from years before PCs used it.

Symbilink gives you extra voltage to your amps and also removes almost all noise and distortion from the RCA signal giving better SQ.
