Zymol Cleaner Wax

well followed the instructions to the letter....very disappointed with the finish it left, anyone else ever had problems with Zymol?

  FN2 Type R +MK6 Golf

best stuff ive ever used TBH,i put it on with a fine mist spray of water and then apply the wax to the wet area and buff off when dry.

Results are way better than auto glym and ive not got time for the maguires 3hr treatment,i just wanna wash and go hehehe

Well cleaned car twice using Zymol auto wash, let car dry au natural while i jumped in old boys fiat stilo  and went to macds, then once back checked car over and was looking spotless :) so then had a good shake of the zymol cleaner wax, then using meguiars polish applicators done a section say 2x2 of the bonnet and buffed it with auto glym perfect finish polish cloths, then sprayed some water on and buffed again but it just was not the finish i would imagine

lol u aint using propper zymol then guessing u got it from halfords ??? if so its turtle wax in a diff bottle with a bit of smeely stuff in it :p

hi there guys you will find you can get better results with the zymol cleaner wax if you applied it with cotton wool to minimizing the scratching the paint work then spray clean water on to it then buff with a microfiber cloth then you will see it shine.this was the way as an ex zymol detailer i would apply the product.now use MOTHERS WAX AND POLISH found i can get even better shine and slickness and that includes the vintage wax at £1200

use a Microfibre cloth to buff it off with, you will be there all day with the Auto Glym cotton ones

but, buy a good one, the Zymol ones are by far the best, think there £16 for two, which is cheaper than the Meguairs one, which is still pretty good but not as good as the Zymol one by a decent margin

Its not Turtle Wax, because Turtle Wax Extreme is better than Zymol and easier to apply and take off!

I have just checked out the most recent Auto Express product test for car cleaners and their best ones are:

A1 Speedwax - £15

Turtle Wax "Wax It Wet" - £5.99

Turtle Wax Gloss Guard - £6.99

For bumpers:

Turtle Wax "Black in a Flash"

Wynns Bumpers and Trim Shine

apply it mate........wait........buff it off.........then spray a fine mist of water over and buff that off...........not too much, you hardly need any......

yep i used to use vintage wax on my white van not a bad shine looked quite good. but now got Mothers 3 stages plus reflections on top wow is all i can say.i miss zymol for the smell but not for the shine i have found better.

Turtle Wax Extreme is better than Autoglym. :D

Today I tried the Turtle Wax "Wax it Wet" in a spray bottle and that was good too. You just wash and rinse your car, spray this wet wax on and dry it off! I dont know how long it will last though.

Easy peasy.

craig if you are getting a yellow 182 you should really think about putting Mothers 3 stages and then topping off with reflections .my girlfriend has a ford ka millenium which is yellow and the shine and reflections in the paint is awesome.washing the car is a nightmare as the water does not want to sit on it.when i detailed it this was the process which i used:

washed with mothers

clayed with mothers

machine polished with 3m finess it with white foam pad

machine polished with mothers stage 1 paint cleaner with white foam pad

machine polished with mothers stage 2 sealer and glaze *2 with grey foam pad egg shape

machine polished with mothers stage 3 carnauba wax liquid *2 with grey foam vented

then polish by hand mothers reflections polish *7 times

all polishes or wax was applied by cotton wool then buffed off with microfiber cloth to minimize scratching.

this has gained the best possible shine i could wish for on a car for a days work anyway .more time more layers more shine

Thanks for taking the time to reply topshotvaleting although to be honest that sounds like *far* too much work ... and thats without the *massive* expense incurred with Mothers stuff ...

Any other thoughts?

girlracer im sorry but you REALLY need to stop replying to care paint care posts, you rear dont know f**k all and just make your self sound silly by saying turtle wax is the best, bently dealers etc wont use turtle wax as its sh*t, paint sprayers wont use turtle wax... that is if they are good sprayers, but seriosely just stop it ok...

cost of the product does not mean you will get a good effect that you are looking for .it is all in your prep work .you must give the car a complete wash then you must clay the car to gain you the silky smooth finish.then polish out the scratches you have in the paint or any imperfections.then you need to deoxidize the paint so when you finally apply your wax you are sealing in a perfect finish.then you will need to apply a product which can reoil your paint.you have to think of your paint like your skin on your hands if you keep on washing your hands they will dry and crack and become hard and white.so to stop this you apply hand cream to your skin.so you must reoil your paint in the same way.then when you have got your desired shine and perfect finish you then want to apply the wax of your choice to seal in that deep shine.

i only mentioned mothers in my previous post as i use this product on a day to day basis in my work setting cars up for that concours shine .i know how easy it is to use in all weathers and its not that expensive when you see the results you can get are as good if not better than more expensive waxes which i have used in the past.go to http://www.nvva.co.ukwww.nvva.co.uk to check out what i mean about shine and depth.i have used mothers on cars which have been up to 30years old 250k miles and abused and on cheap resprays and i still get a deep shine and a car that looks like new and in some cases better than new.if any of you guys or ladies need any help or tips on detailing please feel free and contact me at 07770537697.i would love to beable to help you Martin
