Courtesy of Zymol, we had a starter kit on offer, worth £99.

To enter the competition, you had to answer the following question "How much carnauba is there in the Royale Glaze?"

The correct answer was 68%-70%.

Congratulations to Mark Conroy, from Berkshire, whos Clio 16v will be sparklingly clean soon.

Congrats Mark.

Jas, Id better make sure you have Marks correct address. Its exactly the same as mine, which is really odd :D And it might be a good idea to put my name on there too;) instead of Marks.

BRUN

You have become very domesticated since you have been a freeloading Zymol convert, even being able to advise us on the temperature of the water for washing our cleaning cloths in and the type of detergent we should be using.

I will try to remember this advice!

;)

  Skoda Fabia vRS

make sure u do hehe, if u been washin em at 40c with a Bio, they will jus end up wrecked after a few washes, up the temp to 60c and use a non bio and you will feel the difference after just 1 wash

oh an freeloader ?............yes i guess i am, but your only jealous hehe

At least Im not tight! I dont re-use my cleaning cloths, I throw them away and use new ones. Must be why my car looks sparkling clean!!

;)

  Skoda Fabia vRS

G/R what cloths are you using then ?

im using Zymol + Meguairs Micro Fibre Cloths, and at £10+ each im not gonna bloody throw em away every time i wax the car !

and if you are that rich to be doing that, then

you have more money than sense
you can quite clearly afford to buy a Zymol Complete Kit !!!
;)

£10 for each cloth to clean a car - mailto:YOU@RE"> YOU RE CRACKERS I often use old soft cotton tee-shirts, but only the well washed very soft ones and the ordinary yellow dusters and I dont have any swirls or scratches on my car either.

I went out for a drive to walk the dogs earlier tonight and my car was parked just at the edge of some woods while the sun was going down and he looked like brand new as I had washed and leathered him today.

your car wont stay that way GR, T-Shirts are NOT a good material for use on your cars delicate bodywork, you should be using towels at least, a t-shirt has no pile so the dirt cant go anywhere apart from scratch your paintwork as you wipe it off.......plus you shouldnt use any cloths that have been washed in a biological washing powder, and a conditioner used......

  Skoda Fabia vRS

oh an can i just say, Dust has been pmn me about all this, and hes fecked it up in great style

read the instructions mate !!!

i really dont know how you thought what you did, was right ?

for removing polish u should use microfiber towels or at least a 100% terry cotton towel, only polish in straight lines, best is to follow the way air would go over your car, cos ne fine scratches that are made will be harder to see.

then polish off only in straight lines using the microfiber (u can get cheap ones, i bought 2 really nice ones at the french car show) or terry towel. also only apply polish with a sponge applicator or a terry applicator, then next morning get a spritzer bottle (spray bottle) put some filtered water in it, then lightly mist the car and buff off with terry towel, that will give best results.

girlracer stop being cheap as u come across as loaded, get some propper clothes and do a PROPPER job, shud take u a while, when i propperly do my car it takes 4-6 hours easy.

WELL BRUN, I CAN ASSURE YOU THAT THERE ARE ABSOLUTELY NO SCRATCHES OR SWIRLS ON MY CAR AND I AM NOT SPENDING £10 ON DUSTERS - I WOULD RATHER SPEND IT ON WAX. I DONT USE BIOLOGICAL POWDERS EITHER and anyway, prior to using my SOFT t-shirts I give them a really good rinsing in the washing machine.

An elderly neighbour gave me some winceyette sheets, which I cut up into suitable sized pieces, they are very soft and perfect for polishing cars too.

and no need for the caps......
Dont be such a "know all" BRUN. If you ever saw any of our cars you would think they were brand new, irrespective of what cloths we use to clean them with!

erm if u ever saw a propperly, washed and waxed car even if it was old, look at concours cars, they dont use pissing t shirts on it.

yes i am standing up for brun, when he gets an interest in something, he learns as much as possible, which is why he is saying things like about expensive waxes or expensive clothes, he has read about it and finds out things like if you use t shirts to take wax off, u will scratch your paint u may not think u are but wait a year or two and you will see swirls and scratches in the paint.

RIGHT LISTEN SO WHAT I SPELT SUMMIT WRONG WELL DONE FOR POINTING IT OUT.

1 thing i do say for brun if some 1 tell him summit, and maybee he thinks that aint right, he will go and look at places to see if it is true or not, then if he finds out it is wrong he will proove it.

as for you, you are wrong about t shirts not scratching your car, u may not be able to see it, but you are scratching your car by using a t shirt, as when u whipe it over the dust or small particles of dirt, the dust/dirt gets pushed in to the shirt as there is no where else for it to go. a microfiber however has large fibers, looks a bit like velcro, that the dirt/ dust gets trapped inbetween the fibers pulling it away from the paint.

it has been prooven that long term use of a t shirt or ne other CLOTH will put microscopic scrathces on your car, and after time will show up.

you may not be able to see them now but you will in time.

even if you go to a body shop and get some paint work done they will never use an old rag or old t shirt to polish.

you might think u know every thing but you dont, why dont you accept brun and others know more about car paint work or ne thing else than you do.

You are beginning to sound like your name!! I never mentioned spelling mistakes, you talked about expensive CLOTHES which have nothing to do with cars!

I have never touched any dust or dirt on my car with a cloth of any sort. I wash it so often that the dust never has time to land on my car!!

I always use the fine shower setting on the hose to soak my car then I use clean sponges (three different ones) to apply a small amount of shampoo dissolved in a bucket of warm water, followed by drying off with a chamois leather.

um ok, u saying u can see microscopic dust, i guarantee u that there is dust on your car right now that is the dust that scratches paint.

when ever it rains and then it stops raining, dust is attracted to the water/rain, so u then get pockets of dust on your car.

im sorry if i sounded harsh but, u really must believe me i have looked in to this and i know i am right, and by using a t shirt you will be rubbing dust in to your car.

no matter how much you wash your car you will be getting dust on it, u think ok lets say a small spec of dust lands on your freshly washed car, u then polish it, go to buff of and the bit of dust gets stuck to the t shirt, then every whipe u take u will be making a small scratch u may not be able to see it, but after time as the paint matures it will show.
