zymol

  R.S clio 200
i've been reading the detailing forum and not many people seem to use zymol products,i have been using zymol for about 6 years and it's top class stuff,i couldn't recommend it enough,i use lehm clay and lube, pre wax cleaner, rouge and concourse wax, shampoo and field glaze.for windows i use auto glym glass cleaner and fast glass as i don't rate zymol glass cleaner.i don't use any tyre sheen as i find it flicks off all over my paint work.any recommendations???

Clean the tyre wall properly, use APC or Super Degreaser. Scrub the walls.

Dry.

When they are cool, and dry, apply the tyre gel. I always wipe down the walls after with a MF cloth to remove excess.

I use Blackfire Long Lasting Tyre Gel, seems to last longer than Megs. I dont think any tyre gel is long lasting as such, rain, and washing will remove it.

I like Zymol stuff, but theres cheaper and better products out there that better suit my needs. I use their Waxes (Carbon and Glasur) and HD Cleanse mainly.

I don't approve much these days, but it wasn't your post that tickled me.

It's not. I must say it really isn't.

The HD- isn't up to much but the field glaze is class if used correctly.

Ive always thought HD cleanse was a good pre wax cleaner. I prefer Swissvax CF but its a little greasy. Going to try Lime Prime Lite soon.

I just think a lot of Zymol stuff is rediculously expensive. Last time I was looking at the stuff on monza I was like "riiightt". Still just think people buy it for the brand name (much like Zaino).

O M G did someone just say Zaino?!....splurt.

Yeah.

Zymol Shampoo is pretty good. I have used it for a few years now and never touched anything else. Its a bit expensive but works well.

I will dry the car with the AG chamois afterwards then give it a once over with Zaino Z-8, every month i will give it a seal/re-seal with Zaino Z-5.

Zaino is the dogs b*lls! its the only stuff i have used that puts a big grin on my face when i take a step back and look at my car (and mines is silver, on black or red the results are even better) Lasts for ages aswell. Only problem with it is that if the car is not prep'd 100% you will gain nothing

Yeah.

Whats wrong with Zaino?

Yeah Zymol Stuff is expensive i agree but they do make good waxes. Probably some of the best IMO.

Im a big zymol fan, i have titanium and its one of the best waxes ive ever used, my brother has glasur and that is awesome too. Their HD cleanse is good, and i think field glaze is a top product but both have to be used correctly!

I have Carbon, Titanium, Glasur and Vintage. Field Glaze is great too - not sure whats not to like apart from the price?

Their 'proper' shampoo is crap, but the stuff which Halfords sold was decent enough.

If you compare like for like with Swissvax, then the Zymol's tend to NAIL them on durability, and IMO looks, apart from maybe Carbon - I prefer using Onyx. Now that BOS is £160, Glasur looks like a bargain. Destiny is better than Crystal Rock too.

Ive almost finished my first post of BOS, i bought it when the VAT rate was down and it was a little cheaper. I wont be buying it again. I doubt ill be buying any more expensive waxes again, either. ill stick with Carbon and Vics Red. I only really use waxes for the beading and seeing as no wax seems to beed well after about 3 washes i dont see the point in buyuing the higher end s**t. Very tempted by Destiny though but id rarther save the $$.

Still maintain that i dont like field glaze too.

I made the same deductions after testing both Carbon and Onyx a while back, Russ. Still use it to this day on the minimal number of details I have time for.

What does the Meg get? And how're you enjoying it at the moment?

I'm still a Glasur wh0re, I can't see past it for a high end wax to be honest.

Meg is knackered mate, needs a new starter motor a week out of warranty!! Not good!

It's got 3 coats of Colli 845 on it, on top of 3 layers of Z2P. Should see it through Winter :)
