Got some lovely pics of the car... (sorry it aint a clio! Just a boggo family-mobile!)
On the last picture, the passenger door behind the drivers cant be closed properly (and its bloody raining aargh!). Rear quarter has popped out, and when the door is opened, you can see a kink in the...
Hi all,
Thanks for your comments - the situation is a bit more complex than normal, but I guess I just have to go with it and go ahead with the claim. Seems like an increase in premium is most likely gonna happen and I may have to pay the excess - now not that bothered as health of me my wife...
Hi,
I don't post on here too often since moving away from driving Clip, but I would like some opinions and advice.
Yesterday I was driving with my wife and 15mth old boy along a busy 3 lane road (A4 Great West Road in Hounslow towards London) and on approach to the traffic lights I slowed down...
Re: Looking for Hankook V12 evo tyres for my 172 - cannot find them ANYWHERE! Alterna
Aah that makes sense. Searched everywhere for 195/45 R16 V12s but couldnt find them. Not really wanting to get larger tyres because the rears I already have have plenty of tread, and I want to replace just...
great tyres according to many here, and my rubbish Contis need replacing very soon - but cannot find these Hankooks anywhere in this size!
Any ideas where I can get them from? Or perhaps anyone can suggest a good alternative?
Ceers in advance
Looks like the car MAY be written off - depending on the actual priceup of the parts and labour.
My car is a 2002 52 plate 172, and despite being in excellent condition, is on 87000 miles. How much do you think it would be worth if the car is OK? If they do write it off and offer me some...
My car is being assesed by third party insurers, and they want to know if they can replace the exhaust system (Ktec Super Stealth Mild Steel £229) like for like, or original Renault. Car is touch and go as far as being a writeoff, and if the genuine is more expensive, it may well force a...
A quick update - just got in touch with the garage, and it seems the car is very much touch & go so far as it being a writeoff. Current estimate is £2800 for repairs, and they are awaiting a descision from the insurance company whether to start stripping the car to check for more damage.
The...
I feel better about all of this - my bumper/hatch had a few scratches on it, and now it should look like new!
Dropping the car off at Autotech tomorrow, and picking up a Seat Altea (whatever that is)
Even though its driveable, Ive insisted that Im not comfortable with it at the mo - they are sorting out a hire car from me today.
Although I love my car, after this I dont really want it back. Its annoying that if impact was just a teeny weeny bit harder, it would probably be a writeoff. :(...
Doesnt look too bad in the pics, but the tailgate is really difficult to close, and the floor is slightly warped all the way to the top.
Hoping it is a writeoff.
Wife came in from work on friday with the car smashed in from behind. Most importantly, she is fine, but the car is not so good - superficially, the car doesnt look too bad, with the intact but pushed in, and the tailgate a bit mangled, but upon opening the boot Ive realised the boot floor is...
Thats what I was absolutely baffled about! She phoned me up (on the M4) balling her eyes out while I was perhaps a little shoutey, and she explained that the nozzle wouldnt fit but she still put a few litres in with most of it going on the floor. Silly bint :(
Had the car tank drained yesterday - not sure they purged the fuel system, but they got it started and I was away. Filled up the tank, and drove home gently, but the car is lacking a bit of power and a bit spluttery with the exhaust ever so slightly popping. Hopefully it clears up as its driven. :(
Good choice of camera, but Im certain that if you get into photography, you will most certainly want a dslr.
I had a Panasonic FZ18 (comparable to your G9) and was absolutely delighted with it, but just one month later I decided to get a dslr. They may well have similar capabilities on paper...

Im just getting the hang of it myself
I knew beforehand that there are limitations of the 4/3 system that Olympus use (less variety and more expensive lenses, slightly lower dynamic range, more difficult to get shallow DOF, more noise at high ISO).
But after comparing with the Nikon D60 and Canon 400D, it felt `right` in my...
Bought my Olympus E-510 last week, and despite the tough desicion to get this over a Nikon D60 and a Canon 400D, Im absolutely delighted!
Ive got the twin lens kit, which as far as kit lens go is pretty decent, but I now want a good lens for doing some macro work and portraits. Any...
Right... it looks like Ill be joining the Canon camp! :)
Canon 400D with 18-55mm lens & free 2gb CF card from Tesco Direct - £360
Canon EF-S Zoom Lens - 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS lens from 7 day shop - £175
Total :- £535
Minus £45 cashback - Final total :- £490
Hows that sound?
Cheers for the advice guys! :)
Im now understanding the advantages of getting a Nikon or a Canon - the prices and sheer availability of lenses and accessories is much better than something like an Olympus, especially Four Thirds models like the E range.
I guess its all about how serious I...
Hi
Ive had a Panasonic FZ18 now for 2 months, and after spending a week snapping away in New York, I feel ready to get a `proper` camera. The FZ18 has been an excellent camera for me just to start off with, and the manual flexibility it has has given me the understanding to go all the way and...

I use Realplayer to save clips to my computer. It saves them into Realplayers library as an .flv (flash) file, and its easy to convert to anything else. Works on pretty much anything... youtube, bbc, sky...
Wow... some nice pics here!
I know f**k all about photography, but bought a Pana FZ18 yesterday just to start me off together with some basic photography books. Perhaps I should have gone in straight for a DSLR :dapprove:
Cheers for the advice Kully.
Changed coilpack, but no joy. Leads look OK but I guess it could be that they could have broken down internally - will change them today before probably finding out that one of my spark plugs have gone!
Sorry for bringing this back from the dead, but Darko... did it turn out to be the coilpack? Exact same problem on my car - Im taking gamble on just changing the coilpack first as its dead easy to do.
Ive got this problem, and I do what you do to make sure it chucks out cold air. Cannot use AUTO as it always seems to default to hot air - when I say hot its REALLY hot.
Im not sure its the electrics - someone here mentioned that it may be a motor which drives an air diverter. If you stick...
