I have the same car and had the same problem on the same side !. I siliconed around the inner foam so that when I put the main rubber seal back on, there would be no gap at all. Like you, I left the drain holes alone. This has cured my leak. Gook luck
Mine had the same fault and it was the battery. See if you can lend a one that starts a car up and if it does then bingo, get a new battery. If not then tdc sensor :)
It could be related to the same issue. I bet your throttle body is dirty. How many miles on yours ? Mine has 79k. Take the inlet manifold off. Its a bit tricky but only 4 star bolts and about 8 x 10mm manifold bolts then 2 milti plugs on throttle body itself. 4 star bolts hold the body to the...
While reversing, I was often getting the electrical pulse type warning light coming on on the dash which also made the revs fluctuate and sometimes cut out. After a few hundred yards or so it would clear.
I took the inlet manifold off last weekend to have a look and not only found the throttle...
Thanks mate. Do you think that it could cause the engine management light to come on which cause the engine to idle erratically ? This only happens sometimes when either reversing or driving very slow in traffic, never when normal driving ! Thanks again :)
Hi whats the canister thats located to the rear of the front o/s headlight? Its lower than the light and looks like you get to it by removing the front wheel and plastic inner arch. Mine starts 'ticking' sometimes. Seems to happen if you pull away with really really low revs going forwards or...
Exactly ! My clutch is out at the minute and I plan on removing the wing nut and filling then from the breather. As soon as oil starts coming out, BINGO !
Clutch out now. No need for sub-frame to come out either. If you remove the two studs which the box go over (for bellhousing nuts) the box comes back enough and gives you a good angle to take the clutch and thrust bearing out comfortably. I love 1.2 16v's. Not quick, but so easy to work on !
Your not wrong there ! Everything is so easy to do on this car. I have my brothers Mk2 Ph1 at the minute and was thinking of buying it off him. Its rapid and looks great in black :D
I was wondering if you could do that actually. Get the box out just enough to get the clutch and bearing done. Would save me taking the sub-frame out etc.
Also, does anyone know off hand what the correct gearbox oil is for this car ?
Thanks again
Hi folks. Need to change the clutch on my mk2 ph2 1.2 16v and just checking that I can do it with leaving the engine. Back in the day when I was a technician in the motor trade, Clio's had to have both engine and box out but just want to check with you experts first :approve:
Thanks
Apart from Renault, any ideas as to where to get a gearbox stabiliser bar? Its the one at the rear of the gearbox which you get to from underneath. Tried GSF but they dont have the correct one.
1.2 16v (2001 Y reg) Ph2 Mk2
Thanks
Hi all. Once or twice a week maybe, the warning light which is a box with a 'pulse' in it comes on. When this happens, the revs start going up and down on tick over and there is a ticking/clicking noise coming from behind the o/s headlight. Its not much of an issue as it goes off after a minute...
Hi.
Is there any difference with the electric front window mechanism on a 3 door and 5 door mk2 ph2?
Also, are the front doors different?
I need a drivers door and mech for my silver mk2 ph2!
Thanks
Where is the best place in th North East to chip/re-map my brothers mk2 ph1 172? My dads just had his Passat TDI re-mapped from 100 bhp to 145 bhp by his friend who does this for a living is only licensed to do Audi/VW. Cheers
My brothers is wrecked. Really lets the interior down. Cheers guys I will let him know about the exclusive/rsi ones. Personally I would go for a momo or similar and forget the air bag! His has 68k on the clock by the way.
