colour coding is on my list to do, then lower then maybe an RS grill to finish off. thanks for the comments guys. ill put a new update in a week or so and let you all know how im getting on
Id go for the coilovers but if its already lowered i see your situation, maybe go with some cheaper coilovers if youre not going for performance then some alloys. No point spending loads of money or mad expensive coilies if its not going to be a track car imo.
Cheers guys. Im going to do the front badge and maybe the back one the same blue colour. With these rokkor coilovers do you need anything else or are they just a straight fit? Cos with 60mm springs you have to change the shocks, do you need to do anything like that with the coilovers??
Cheers...
Sorry to throw a spanner in the works and go against everyone else but i had this problem with my car a week or 2 ago. Pulled away from a set of lights and saw a scooby opposite and thought that sounds good, then realised the noise was following me and that the scoob wasnt moving. was about 2...
are your wheels 15s or 16s? Lovely car either way, just wanted to know cos i want to lower my car 60mm but yours looks how low i want mine??
Thanks
James
Looks lovely mate. How low is it front and back? If you wouldnt mind having a look at my project thread i'd appreciate it. I dont know how much to lower mine so an opinion would be great.
Thanks
James
I done my mirror caps on my old car and just used some clear lacquer from halfords, they were put on in about november time and were still on fine by the time i sold the car about a month ago although they were begging to peel a bit around where one sticker overlaps onto the other.
Looks lovely mate. Can i just ask how you got the side bump strips off to paint them? And when fitting the coilovers did you replace anything or buy anything else or did the coilovers just go straight on?
Love the car mate. I like the outside, just nice and clean/simple, then the inside is like a different car. Love the contrast of it from day to night time pictures too!!
yea, the front badge is white though :rasp: haha. So that will be going the same blue as the wheel badges or black. And Jaye it should be getting lowered in a couple of months once i sort out my engine troubles. Any more opinions?
Right, as promised some pictures
Firstly of the dreadfull grey tyres
Here it is with one tyre done, thefront one i think lol :)
And lastly with both tyres and blue badges in wheels
Thanks for looking. Please leave comments and opinions on the car and what you all think i should...
Hi, seen a silver 172 in Gorleston (Great Yarmouth) car was pretty much statndard but looked lowered and had some split 6 spoke wheels. And a huge clio sport decal on the top of the back window. So i guess its someone from here lol.
So there is no need for primer or lacquer etc? Ive seen a can of gloss black that you paint on with a brush on e-bay. Im guessing this would work the same as all others?
Hi all, im in need of some wisdom.
I want to paint my brake calipers and drums black as the previous owner done them red and there is now no other red on the car so looks rather out of place. I was wondering how long it would take roughly (from wheels off to wheels on) to do all the necessary...
I know a guy that will put all 4 springs on for £50. Dont know about the price of tyres being put onto alloys but he'll put alloys on for 10er. might be a bit far for you though??
Seeing as i have the whole day free Tuesday im going to give the car a clean, put blue badges on and take all the sticky stuff off left by the stripe and use some tyre shine as suggested by most people so ill put a few pics up tuesday night with the nice black tyres :)
I agree with jaye2992. Paint standards in gloss black or gunmetal grey then lower about 60mm and you'll be laughing. Cheap and cheerfull modding is the way forward. Ill keep an eye on this to see how it works out..
Re: Not so much a Project...
Was your engine managment light a little coil and it made the car rev on iddle and cut out? I have that problem and am in the middle of getting it sorted. Did you get yours sorted? If so what was it that fixed it? Ive replaced MAP sensor and am replacing throttle...
