Re: Drag Racing at Shakesphere

On a serious note Dave, It might just be the linkage. When I set my linkage after swapping the box it was all in the wrong place, theres a split in the linkage with a sleeve and bolt so you can adjust it.

Right then Don educate me,
what is a band selector, where is it, and can it be replaced?

Under the car is a black piece of metal that when you move the gearstick, it pushes the gearbox into selecting the relevant gear. I dont know much about them...but sound like that is your issue...if getting car into gear is a problem (ie not as should be)

Ok, it's going on a lift next Wednesday to have a new steering rack,
i'll get the grease monkeys to have a fiddle and see if they can fix it.

If it's just the linkage they take a bit of fiddling to get right if you're not used to them as I wasn't but simple enough task.

Re: Drag Racing at Shakesphere

We'd be better off using a couple of donkeys to tow it rather than that sickly oil burner of yours. lol

I do apologise. Didn't see that mate. This will be great fun.

Back seats will be coming out for this. May remove rear wiper too. That weighs a fair bit.......

Not for me, no apexes to hump. Might pop along to help pick up popped driveshafts/spectate.

I'd leave them in...for the sake of the drive down and running a couple of kilos there's no advantage...you will be deaf on m'way due to exhaust drone and you need a benchmark to get yourself better from.

Re: Drag Racing at Shakesphere

There's no stripping involved, it's only a couple of bolts, 5 mins and it's done.

Although mine are out because of the dog, I don't have any human friends so I don't need them at all.

I know that...but the drone at m'way speeds isnt too great, but makes car sound more meaty if you are giving it some beans accelerating. I had parcel shelf out on Friday (as had bike in) and forgot to put it back...sounded unbearable at 70ish mph

Re: Drag Racing at Shakesphere

Just removed all of my rear interior ready for Llandow, will leave it out ready for this I think.

Re: Drag Racing at Shakesphere

I can go to which ever - I had my seats out for a couple of weeks and omfg with the Yozza it drones like a b**ch - I love the noise (once you get past that resonating rev its fine), but my gf hates it :D

In terms of dates I can make either so we'll see which is chosen!
