Heanor and Derby

I am a black Sport 172 living in Spondon/Borrowash (if you're local you'll know it).

I've spotted the following near me:-

1. Blue Sport on my 'development', twin exhaust so I assume that's a 182. 2. Couple of (silver and blue) Clio's around the A52 and Raynesway (A5111) area.
3. Black 02 plate Sport 172 (identical to mine) going into Heanor on the Derby to Heanor road A608/9?
4. Red (not a Ferrari red, but a darker, richer, deeper red) in West Hallam village.

I live in Spondon. Ive seen the same Blue 182 (did it have the white stripes? I cant remember now) queueing down Sitwell to get to the A52 in the mornings.

Where abouts in spondon mate, I live there too!

A silver 03 172 with 182 wheels, rear bumper and exhaust and lowered is my mates if you've seen that about.

Jeez i never knew Spondon was such a popular place for CS users! I live on Chapel Street just up from the Co-op. Only been driving since Halloween when i passed my test so i dont have the luxury of 172s like you all seem to :rolleyes:

I think there is a blue one with stripes, but the other blue one is 'stripeless'. I will drive in tomorrow (instead of cycling) and see if I spot any more ;-)

Oh, if you see a cyclist on a Specialised Stumpy having road rage on Notts Rd/Asda/Rayesway its me and I apologise in advance ;-)

Did you used to go West park then?
I've been left almost 3 years now!

I live on Sitwell street near the church, haven't got a 172 though, only a dynamique!

For year 7 only, then Heanor Gate for the rest.

Mines a 5dr Mk2 Ph1, Flame Red i think is the colour?
Attempting to fit Sport headlights and Front fogs tomorrow :)

How far up Chapel lane do you live, I know quite a few people on there!

How old are you if you don;t mind me asking?

I was 24 in Feb, so a fair bit older even though i look about 16 lol.

Not Chapel Lane itself, Chapel Street. Theres a couple of houses on the corner at the bottom of Chapel Lane oposite that 1 way Hall Dyke.

Theres also a Clio Dynamique that lives oposite from me its kinda cool when we park on the road next to each and you get that old and new effect! doubt he uses CS though

meh you lot are growing ! @ post 1 the red is prob mattyj as i dont frequent that neck of the woods often altho mells was w hallam way in a blue 182.
have seen another flame red in alvo recently with some diff wheels on which tbh look nasty so hope its no1 here....
@ david - you didnt have a sister called lousie do you ... ?

Do i have a sister named louise?? no.. i do have 2 sisters tho ( please refrain from any abusive sister comments! ) and iv probly seen all your cars cus i work at renault derby..booo!!

Hello All - good to hear of so many local folks!

I'm in Belper, but the 182 (black gold, with B2 private plate) might have been seen around Heanor way, as the missus worked in Langley Mill
until a week or so ago...

I think warine_warrior is also heanor way with a black 172 - so that might be the one spotted in post #1...

ahh was at school with a lousie mellors who had a younger brother but not you !
what you do @ sunwin btw ? always good to know a mech ;) service manager had refused to do any warranty work on mine as we sortof fellout.. got on with steve sykes ok tho and one of the young mechs who got my whole exhause changed under warranty once :)

yes matty would be good for a meet of some description altho not put name down 100% as wife dropped last week and im under the thumb for the next few weeks i imagine...

ne1 going to donnington for touring cars in 3 weeks btw ?

Im a tech, steve sykes has left and i remember your exhaust! was it a vibration noise from the centre section?? Not got a good reputation sunwin derby but they went through a phase of employing tyre fitters as techs ( no offence to tyre fitters ) but they was just so shoddy..

lol ye, cat was rattling so went up on the ramps and front & back boxes were blowing so i got a complete unit as manager was out :)
was cause i found at the 'features' from links here that were covered on warranty so had steering wheel, cat but they didnt like it when i took it in for a crank sensor with the accoustic valve removed, even tho the head mechanic told me to my face it had a problem b4 i ever took it off.

were you that mechanic then or is there an 'avoid this bloke at all costs' poster in the staff room :)

I get my mechanic mate todo all my work, he works over at TC Harrison on Pride Park so he just hangs around after his shift and i pay him for parts + something for his help. I tried Sitwell Garage in Spondon once and regreted it! Id imagine Sunwin Derby will just rip me off as much.

Any of you lot found a good garage (price and quality wise)?

^ Try M&B motors in Derby mate, they have always been good with me.
But for servicing and stuff I'd say it's definately worth the drive to Birchdown in Chesire, you still save money over shitty renault even after paying for fuel, costs less than £20 both ways!

No i wasnt that mechanic but i remember your car! i'l do owt warranty if i can get away with it, not my money! haha. Sunwin are a rip off to be honest il do any work they quote at at least 50% cheaper!

M&B are round corner from my work.

You really have a short memory youth... I used to live at home with my rents on Morley Road, now I have my own gaff t'other end of Oakwood

I'll second that. From my experiences in the last 8 months, I would never recommend Sunwin Derby to anyone. Period. Total sham of a place. How they are authorised Renault dealers when they no jack about the models they sell is beyond me

^^ thats a bit harsh but kinda true... some people there were shockin.. but most of them were tyre fitters and have gone.

I think most renault main dealers are s**t tho... w**k management and too much pressure on the techs to churn out as much work as possible..

Not spondon related i know but i encountered a yellow 197 F1 on my way to my mates on Saturday along the A6 just outside Matlock Bath. Looked amazing!

Stuff you guys and your 172s ive seen the future! :D
