all bled up with some superblue, car pulls to the right very slightly under hard braking so going to rebleed them again today

Looking good, Jamie. I’ll get some pics of this for you at Oulton on the 16th Nov if you want?

cheers mate, yeah that'd be top if you could with your epic camera skills, looking forward to it should be a good day aslong as it doesn't rain!

Yeah it should be, I'm getting a passenger band too, so I wouldn't mind going out for a few laps in this if that's alright? I'll supply the photos in return ;)

yah man of course!

won a 6month old japspeed manifold on ebay -

IMG_3776_zps05da91da.jpg

old one removed, theres a good 4-5kgs in weight difference -

new fitted -

IMG_3784_zps02c8f8f7.jpg

best part of the manifold is the shield/guard -

IMG_3778_zpsecb99a12.jpg

...the main reason why I wanted this as all the 4-1 manifolds ive seen for sale are damaged or dented in someway as they do sit rather low

the manifold has made the exhaust a tad louder, its so raspy!

full bay shot -

IMG_3786_zpsdfe59295.jpg

got some new front arm bushes as I thought why not change them as ive already done the rear arb bushes -

IMG_3782_zps772ba94e.jpg

old ones had seen better days -

IMG_3783_zps69f40c63.jpg

also got some new rear trailing arm bushes but im going to do then probs next weekend as they'll take the best part of a day to do both i think

4 weeks till oulton park cant wait!

  JDM Dc2
ordered some 17mm bolt on hubcentric spacers 2 weeks ago for the fronts (may well get some for the fronts after oulton), they came yesterday so fitted them today after work, here's one fitted after me chopping 6mm off the studs, nice snug fit on the centre bore, tapped on slightly with a copper hammer -

IMG_3799_zps0fc8f24b.jpg

back on the floor, much better -

IMG_3800_zps14a1fbd7.jpg

IMG_3801_zpse032892b.jpg

I was going to fit my universal 5mm spacers on the rear but I thought i'd best not for the trackday.

quick snap shot of the car up in the air, the rears literally droop 5mm if that when jacked up as you can see, probs down to the fact ive wound up the pre-tension on the rear springs abit to hope that'll stiffen up the rear a tad! -

Cheers guys!

Oulton park was awesome on Saturday, car was better than expected and I recon I was lapping the same time as I did in my old 175bhp 800kg fiesta on semi slicks so that made me happy!

Done 175 track miles using 80quids worth of fuel. The engine's just awesome, brakes were great, suspension seemed great when I had the rears on 34/36 clicks and the fronts 26/36, the only down side was I forgotten how crap T1r's are on track, I mean i'm a rather aggressive driver and like to be on the limit but sometimes I push the car too far and the T1r's just wernt upto the job, I set the pressures to 29 front 31 rears cold so around 34 hot and even then I used quite abit of the sidewall on the front tyres so I daren't lower them anymore. Brakes were awesome, downchanging is difficult with having to have the clutch fully to the floor before attempting to change down whilst heel n toeing so that was a lot more difficult than the fiesta, few pics from the day -

It was going well and sounded great. You think it was as fast as the Fiesta? The Clio didn't feel as quick as my old one, but when my passenger is 18 stone it doesn't help!

  JDM Dc2
cheers guys

can't wait to get it on some proper rubber, cheers for the pics Niall!

was grass cutting quite abit bloody t1r's haha

and yeah I recon so tom, was able to brake later and corner quiker I think once I was like 1/4 way through the corner it just gripped and I could put the power down so early compared to the fiesta

went back on the rollers yesterday to see what it had gained from the Japspeed manifold, de-cat, Mongoose exhaust, 3.5'' Velocity stack and Cone filter... was only expecting a 4-5bhp gain not 14bhp and 6lbs ft -

I will shut up next time I give my opinion on the mods for these and the civic lol, great gain

  e91 330d/type r mini
well done on cracking the 200bhp mark, im suprised it made as little as it did before the manifold though,i was a bit disapointed with the 230bhp my b18 made after all the work and money put into it thinking id made 30bhp but if thats what they make standard then my gains are closer to 45bhp, i do have 167ft lbs of torque which is strong for these engines.
how do these integras dc2's fair up against a 172 on track? are they as good or better as im fancying another tracktoy as the mini has to much money in now to write it off on track so think the integra is looking favourable as i adore the b18 engine :)

yeah I was tbh but the velocity stack and cone filter combo's meant to be the best for bhp gains top end for intake wise with standard inlet, not bad for less than 90quid compared to mugen and tegiwa airboxes that cost like £350, yeah id go with 45bhp gain over standard don't forget this is a high miler too!

ive never driven a 172 on track but there was a fair few on the trackday last month and it didn't take much to pass them, the cornering speed of this once you have grip is mega thanks to the LSD its just that initial turn in I was struggling with on the T1r's with being abit aggressive giving it maximum attack lol

few new goodies -
IMG_3832_zps317e3bdd.jpg

rear strut braces are an optional extra for these I believe and mine didn't come with one so bought a spoon one yesterday, fitted -

IMG_3834_zpsea2c81cf.jpg

I wasn't planning on changing the steering wheel as I like the standard one but it sat a tad too far away and it was abit sticky in the warm weather so got this omp Corsica and boss yesterday too, doesn't bother me that most of the suede has worn off, fitted -
IMG_3836_zpsd3eb75ed.jpg

in the top picture you'll also see a Hardrace upper engine mount, its the only one I havnt changed so far and when it was on the rollers the standard was wobbling abit quite abit, will fit that over the weekend probs!

weighed the car at oulton park last weekend it came in at 1060kgs with little fuel in, so bang on standard weight with the addition of bigger brakes and losing the aircon and a lighter manifold!

epic pics as ever Niall!

so... got these -

oem wheels (reps which my mate spotted ffs) powdercoated in ford grey with 195-50-15 medium compound R888s got them for a very good price which made up for finding out that the wheels are bloody copies!
ive thought about swapping the tyres and running the grey ones for road wheels as theyre in better condition but I dunnoooo... -

Booked my next trackday for Oulton park again Saturday 15h march, going to be insane on the r888s if its dry, will be miles quicker than the fiesta was I recon!

  JDM Dc2
fitted the Hardrace upper engine mount the other day as ive been meaning to for a while now, glad I finally could be bothered to do it as after removing the old/original mount its collapsed just like all the other mounts were -

I don't understand why Honda design the rubber upside down if you get me, why not have the majority of the rubber on the bottom part of the mount instead of the top, ah well just glad its changed now along with all the mounts!

also just changed my spark plugs to these cheap recommended bad boys -

it had bkr6e's in before so may run a tad better now, the old plugs were only afew 1000 miles old they looked perfect tbh

Looking good. I prefer the white wheels also.

Hopefully I can make it to Oulton and go out on track in it again, it wasn’t slow last time so on R888’s it’ll be awesome.

  JDM Dc2
after changing the spark plugs I was still getting an intermittent misfire, next step was to remove the cap and check the spark points for the rotor arm, safe to say they were full of corrosion so a scrape on the 3 points with a flat head and a clean with sandpaper it now runs better than ever.

Cleaned, Brimmed with 99 octane, r888s on and loaded ready for Oulton Park in the morning -

had an awesome day at oulton park on Saturday, night and day difference as expected with the r888's was going at least 5mph/corner quicker than on the t1r road tyres from november!

was a tad held up in the day as the last session before dinner as I came into the paddock I had epic squeaking from the rear, turns out I got my 3 months old rear pads down to the metal after ~1000 road miles and 50miles thrashing around the track, so my mates nipped to Euro car parts and got me another set then I was back out about an hour after dinner so not too much track time missed, got another 100miles in on track within the last 3 hours, was flying I never wanted to come in, the only let down was the brakes...

so ive ordered a set of DS2500's for the rears too to match the fronts, freshly bled up it should be mega and the pads should last, still got a good 4-5mm left on the DS2500's upfront after 2 hard trackdays and ~4000 road miles

need a new radiator too as my mate noticed mine is absolutely peppered, literally the bottom 3rd of the radiator is pointless as all the fin's have disintegrated away with the near 140k the cars done! the temp needle NEVER moves from just under half even after 6 or 7 hard laps on track so im just going to get an oem rad not going to both with a huge expensive ally rad that isn't needed!

tax and mot is due this month too so ive just taxed it and mot hopefully next weekened, hopefully the new rear pads will be here tomorrow!

will defo have a mount for my video camera next time!

so, the rear brakes, along with ds2500 pads I gotten some new discs and I had to get a rear caliper from a breakers as I couldn't wind the piston back in any further on the one that was one, so fitted that along with unsiezeing all the handbrake springs etc, everything fitted (only used one grub screw per disc as one on each side didn't want to come out so I had to drill them out) -

IMG_3939_zpse5aea1d1.jpg

bled them all up for now, had to order some new bleed nipples as the front ones are mullerd.

Gave it a service with some Millers CFS 10w40 again, decided to stick with the same oil as it wasn't overly tappy in the winter and the temps didn't get silly high on both trackdays at oulton park, temp needle literally never moves even with my battered radiator, ive gotten another to go on from the breakers too but will do that in the coming weeks.

Passed MOT with flying colours Saturday, only advisiory being the tyres slightly worn on the outside (from the trackday in November oops haha)

couple of random pics after a quick wash last weekend -

Looks fantastic on track mate, really need to track mine one day.

I was amazed at my temp gauge the other day, it got a right (and I mean right) battering on the lanes and it didn't move!

  JDM Dc2
Awesome bud.

What oil temps are you seeing?

not sure mate I don't have any gauges just the stock ones, the coolant temp never budges, in the xr2 I was always overly concerned and checking the oil temp gauge non stop haha, like I said ive never had a problem with this with how the past 2 trackdays have gone and I don't plan on doing anything to the engine other than just maintaining it so I shall stick with the millers cfs 10w40
