What have you done to your car today ???

  2005 182 cliosport
Yesterday morning, I fitted the top mount spacers in an attempt to cure the dreading knocking. No dice it didn't fix it so I jacked her up and whipped the wheel off to have a poke around underneath I looked up into the wheel arch to fit my apex spring had decided it didn't being in the right position and wanted to be above the top cap instead of in it. Couple of hours later the suspension was all back in place ( much swearing happened to get it in place properly) and the knocking has gone plus the ride is back to normal. Happy Chappy

That needs a name and shame

I understand things happen etc but even specialist or not, if you had just got the car, then the seller should of at least tried not to f**king kill you or someone else
Definitely needs naming so people can avoid that happening to them. What if you had family in the car and ended up injuring or killing them all.

Well managed to fix the damage, and the car is now back on the road again... Had the local wheel alignment specialists check all the alignment, which was then adjusted but nothing has bent or broken which was lucky. Also replaced the exhaust mount as the backbox was cable tied on as the rubber mount insert was almost non existent. No more rattling when driving (crashing?) along.
Spent the whole day detailing it, as it was in a pretty bad state and clearly hadn't seen any polish or wax in a long time. Two stage machine polish using 3M Green/Blue compounds, Auto Finesse paint sealant applied and allowed to cure followed by Poorboys white diamond and two coats of WaxAddict Vitreo that I managed to buy a few weeks back when it was on sale half price (£30 instead of £60 a tub). Really pleased with how it's come up, still needs a few bits sorting but for a weekend/track toy it's a great starting point. Future plans for the new year (and probably beyond) will be to strip the rear, cage, better tyres, smaller steering wheel and probably some bucket seats.

It wasn't a car sales place - and was conducted as a private sale, it's fixed now anyway so although I'm out of pocket, I can at least hopefully, start to enjoy the car as planned. We swapped cars with cash my way, so it'd be a lot of hassle to travel, swap back etc - especially as without spending out on the clio it wouldn't have been able to move anywhere.

CS God gone bad.
Perhaps he had issues in the past where nuts & bolts weren't done up properly so over compensated on this occasion.
I will ban myself now!

Nothing too major, wing has a small crack down the bottom, skirt I replaced and a few other bits, bumper needs refitting to sit 100% but for now can stay pushed back in place, it's not going anywhere lol. Also ordered discs as when it came down on the road it chewed up the drivers disc.

It was an honest mistake, and I'm prepared not to slag someone off who ultimately was doing me a favour in exchanging the two cars and travelling to me, just hope Santa brings him a new torque wrench for xmas

The worst thing was I called a local recovery firm out who charged £140 however I've since realised I had breakdown recovery, It's really not been my week!

Drive it for the first time in two weeks. After driving the wifes 2015 dci is a real eye opener as to how big and lardy small hatchbacks have become. The 182 feels hard and sharp and responsive, it's bloody great!

@oVerboost. Were you the guy on the other group with the Inferno 225 that you wanted to swap?

I was tempted to offer you my Inferno 182 as I really want a 225 but mine's got too much wrong with it at the minute.

What's wrong with it now pal?

Nothing major or difficult, just got a lot of niggley bits to sort out but it's too cold to be messing about under a car at the minute.

Need to fit new top mounts, fit new wishbones and ball joints, replace the collars on the front coilovers and fit some covers to them, fit decat, sort airbag light out, sell F1's and standard 182 wheels I've got in the garage, buy some 2118's then sell the TD's that are on at the minute, replace rear pads and discs as they're knackered. Oh and it's due a service in January as well.

Sounds like you need to find a decent local garage.

I'd much rather do it myself and save the money as I'm tight. Although when I've had parts sat around for months without being fitted I do have to question whether I'd just be better paying for it doing!

If @oVerboost. wants name the specialist it's absolutely fine with us. Even if it's a paid CS trader we always welcome reviews whether they are positive or otherwise.

At the end of the day we have a responsibilty to you our members to provide you with balanced feedback.

But what I will say is we won't accept rumour and conjecture regarding individuals and companies if it isn't backed up with fact or if mistakes that have been made have not been taken up with the person or company allowing them to deal with the issues.

If anyone would like to discuss our policies regarding any of this please feel free to drop me a pm. In the words of the late Bob Hoskins, it's good to talk

Wash, polished and slapped some sealant on it. Akin to rolling a turd in glitter I know, but at least it's got some form of protection on it for winter now

fitted a crank sensor, coolant temp sensor and map sensor to cure a lumpy idle. Made no difference what so ever:D

injector on the way out in the end after id already replaced another. 2 in one week, what are the chances! Italian injector in a French car, who'd of thought it....:D

sorted now and running beautifully, for now....

That looks great mate. Any chance you can tell me your prep and what paint?
Cheers mate, good clean first an decent degreaser. Then some plastic primer from halfords an 2 tins of Matt black cost about 20 quid all in bud. I normally use auto Glyn trim restorer but doesn't really last that long.
