seriously though, i've only ever owned a ps1 and ps2 console wise and have loved both of them.I've played on the N64 and although it had a few good games (mario and goldeneye) the controller was poo and it ran off cartridges...VERY old fashioned.
I was hoping the gamecube would be better, but no....guess what, nintendo rehash another mario game or another zelda game....the only games anyone will buy. i normally hate M$ but the xbox was a good console, with great games and decent graphics, far better than anything nintendo had come up with
I'm hoping that nintendo have learned from their mistakes...if they bring out ANOTHER mario kart/tennis/golf/croquet/breakdancing or woteva then it just confirms that they're devoid of ideas....sure the wiimote may be innovative in that nobodys done it on a console before, but if you think about it, it really isnt anything special....which is why i hope their games are better for the wii - it needs them to survive, cos it cant do that on a controller alone. Theres only so much waving a wand around u can do before it becomes repetitive!!!
I hope the wii is successful and cant wait to have a go on one, but i cant see the appeal lasting unless they have a killer game, something i seriousyl doubt

Toypop, you seem to be implying that nintendo are somehow at fault for once again making something unique, rather than pointing the finger of blame in the direction of Microsoft for not being equally as innovative with their controllers?
Nintendo games have never really been about graphical excellence in the horsepower race. They make superb games and superb innovative hardware. People will play the Wii and enjoy it, and in their eyes it wont be any kind of 'flop'. If ones idea of a console 'flopping' is that it doesn't win the sales war, then that's your lookout, no one elses IMO

The N64 used cartridges because there were zero loading times and you couldn't easily damage them
The Gamecube was very small and easily portable, easy to take over to your mates for multiplayer.
The Wii is even smaller, has motion sensing control and access to an archive of games etc etc.
Nintendo have always put games, and socializing infront of graphics and an ability to do everything (store music, play dvd's etc)
IMO Nintendo is the only Games Console manufacturer out there, the rest make Entertainment Systems

I went out on the lash at 4 on Saturday. Come 8 a couple of us came back to mine to grab something to eat. Obviously we had been drinking for 4 hours, some of the lads a lot longer. We played some Wii bowling. Absolutely amazing. Everyone wants a Wii now.
Even my misses was hooked on the bowling yesterday.
I've always believed that when people say graphics don't matter they were wrong to a degree. In the case of the Wii it's so right. I played a bit of Gears after I'd been playing on the Wii and it obviously looks amazing, but it doesn't matter because I was having more fun playing a silly bowling game on the Wii. Of course Co op Gears is amazing.
Everyone I know who has one or has used one absolutely love it.
Bowling at lunch in the office. I should have bought my controller in with my Mii on it.
If i didnt have my 360 I'd have to admit I'd have the wii over the ps3 IMO

He also goes and visits yours mates on their console if you set it to roam. I got back from shopping on Saturday and the disc slot was glowing blue on my console. I switched it on to find my bosses wife's me had come over onto my console.
While I was bowling with my misses my boss and his wife were watching in the background, in Mii form.
Mine can, and apparently my bosses wife loves it up the 4rse......oh you meant ride Epona?

Microsoft never let a big-selling idea pass them by. As a few others have said, the combination of 360 games with the Wii controllers sounds to be a good one.
Personally, I don't think I'd get a Wii, but I can see the appeal in them...
