That Good of airbag light of MoT Doom!

Okay so this is I don't suppose anything new to anyone who owns a clio, how ever it's bodged electrics might be useful me things. Is it possible (completely theoretical) to link the airbag light to another dash light? With some type of splitter?

Just an idea thinking of adding Sparco seats soon and they have no air bags lol. What you lads and lad'es think of that? Will it work?

you could get some 3.3 ohm resistors and use them to turn the light off. I know that's wha most people do. I have bought some resistors but havent yet fitted them

Resistors cost 25p lol. How is that harder than taking your dash out to get to the bulb!?

Mmmm true I've heard about the resistor usage, where exactly does it go? The airbag wire under the seat?

Remove standard seat, fit new ones and bridge airbag wires with a resistor.. Much simpler than dash top out, clocks out, breaking the track for the air bag light and soldering a wire from oil warning to airbag light. but yes you can do the solder thing if you really wanted. CPC sell the resistors for something like 18p anyway

Mmmm I've had new seat standard Clio one, so I just solder the air bag wires together with the resistor that it?

Definitely easiest thing to do rather than soldering, I made sure it stayed in place with a cable tie and insulation tape (Punto though).

Could you remove all airbags, then do this. Then would the light come on and go off as requested by MOT?

I do have standard seats, and the light has been on since I brought the car, and I think this chairs air bag has actually gone of, hence the airbag and services light! Will this still work D: MoTs are a flipping pain

Chair has been changed(standard clio chair, for now)! Lol. Second hand seat, has air bag but lights still not gone off, will the resistor work?

If the airbag has actually gone off I think you have to get the airbag ecu reset, regardless if you've sinced changed the seat.
Just try the resistor.

Its 51 plate apparently no one can do it? Renault main dealer says I need a new ecu? Im beginning to think my first idea was a damn sight better xD. This is doing my head in

Ive just changed my ecu from a chap on here as mine was locked due to crash matched numbers now all is great NO light

Mmmmm okay well ill wait for bits to arrive im going to replace pretentioers and stuff, mine was same couldn't unlock was locked couldn't clear, it easy plug back in and all is good? Just hope it all mstches up. And what's the long number? Is that on the case?

yes mine ecu number is 0285 001 537 so any ecu that matches that will go in my car no worrys but if the pre tensioners are buggerd the light will remain so try to make sure all is as it should be first

It's b****cks. You can reprogram it on a 51 plate. Just Renault don't know how to use their own computer/

I remember my mate "Dave" had the problem on an old E36 BMW, he pulled the clocks out and bridged the ABS to the oil light which comes on for 5 secs when you first start the car.

Yea we have got dash of but bridging on a chip board wouldn't have a clue how to do that. And after all this should work after replacing the pretention, inersia reels, and module!

Does he have CLiP? The usual snap on scanners etc won't do it. And it's also knowing what to do with CLiP. Clearing fault codes won't work.
