Surprising!! Clio 182 with 130k 0-60 time verified by GPS (Dragy)

Just had a chance to test the 0-60 time of my 2004 Clio 182 using a Dragy - very accurate 10Hz GPS and GLONASS comparable to Vbox.

1417436

0-60 time was 6.47 secs..not bad for a 15 year old car with 130k on the clock!

The only mods that would affect the time are a "98RON" map from RSTuner and I removed the rear seats. Oh and an ITG panel filter. Very pleasantly surprised considering the official figure is 6.9 sec (or maybe 7.1?).

If I find a straight (and quiet) stretch of road WITHOUT a positive incline I reckon I could get it to 6.2...lol!

How do you know this is accurate thou most of these apps are a bit hit and miss are they not?
What else have you tried it on?

Dragy is a small GPS device (around £130) - guys on BMW forums have compared it with VBox and drag strip timing gear. On the specs it's accurate to 1/100 sec

Great result! I've been meaning to try mine too but I only have the torque app and a bluetooth odb device. On my old silver cup I recorded 7.1-7.3 0-60 on a few attempts but it was a 100% standard car with ditchfinder tyres on a country lane.

The trouble I had was finding somewhere to do a few runs away from any other cars and without attracting unwanted attention.

Adrian Flux just sent me a random email about Remaps and saying "We can declare all legal modifications" haha. They clearly monitor the forums closely so watch out!...not to worry declared the recent mods now!

I've just had the same email. Just says they can insure all road legal modifications

Draggy gps and app is just as accurate as vBox. I use my draggy all the time

Wonder what the 100-200kmh time of a 182 is
Such a cool little tool. What do you use it for mostly, track videos with overlay?

My attempt earlier. I used torque pro with an ELM327 adapter so probably not 100% accurate lol

Scarily similar to my 6.47! Would be curious to see what it is using GPS

Yeah strange right?! It was my one and only attempt and traction control kicked in slightly but was very happy with that anyway. Later tried a 40-60mph test and recorded 2.5 seconds in 2nd gear. Would be interested to know what yours does for comparison?

Yep rs tuner. Only other mods are power flow exhaust and fatty intake.

That’s great consistency! Hopefully the torque app isn’t inaccurate after all

Mine is a 182 so should be slightly quicker though, no? The best thing about the remap is the increased rev limiter to 7800, so you can hit 60mph at the top of second gear. Will do a few more runs to see if I can nail the launch rpm

The 182 is more powerful but perhaps a tad heavier, so fairly similar overall. I have an aircon delete so is slightly lighter than a standard 172. I still have a full interior, spare wheel and tools though. Would definitely be interested in seeing more figures to compare with.

The performance figures via Torque would be dead on accurate for the 40-60 where the tyres are gripping since it goes by speed reported by the ECU, not sure how it would work where the wheels are spinning up? Although it would measure from the moment the wheel speed sensors show above 0 so could be really accurate..

Tyre wear and inflation would play a role

Yeah there’s lots to factor in. My tyres are Pilot Sport 3, 8mm of tread and 32ish psi. I’d love to know what figures it would get with something more accurate like Dragy or Vbox, but Torque is fun nevertheless

According to Parkers 172 Cup is 6.7 and 182 (and 182 cup) is 6.9

Yeah I’m not sure what the manufacturers figures are but Evo magazine even tested the 172 cup at 6.5 seconds 0-60.

I agree there’s little in it with any of the 172/182 variants though

Thought so.

Considerably lighter and less rotating mass on the aux setup.

In the real world though, I don't think you'll notice the difference.
I'm really curious about the difference between Fastchip flashed ECU and standard for 0-60 since me and Cup172rich both have it
