Loud noise on over run

Got this strange rotational noise when running down the revs in gear.
Really loud and is almost like a whump whump whump sound. I know that sounds daft but will try get a recording.

Anyway. This noise disappears completely the moment the clutch is pressed in.

I can faintly hear it when on light throttle but it is not obvious when on power.

Any ideas?

The full clutch kit was done along with a gearbox refurb only 15-20k ago. Hopefully neither of those!

No remap, standard engine wise.

It does seem like it's got to be a box fault though as it's only when in gear. Knock it out or clutch in and it disappears instantly.

It would appear this drive shaft bearing is ruined. This'll be the source then.

Is it replaceable or a new shaft?

Yeah the bearings are replaceable.

I'm sure they're the same as the Megane 225/R26/175. Message MND Motorsport on Facebook, Matt is usually cheapest and best on delivery of the bearings

The bearing is the centre support on the shaft, without it it would just flop around surely

I'm intrigued to know how the f**k your shaft didnt put a hole in the block without the bearing 😂
