Is my gearbox knackered?

I replaced the fluid a few weeks ago with Red Line MT90 GL4. First proper drive out in it today with the weather being rubbish for so long and lockdown, etc.

Didn't notice too much when driving to be honest. But when pulling up onto the driveway there was definitely a new noise I'd not heard before.

I recorded the attached videos straight after getting home after jacking it up to inspect. One video is passenger the other is drivers side.

Main bearings gone maybe?

Is the gearbox noisy under load? Or does it make the noise all the time?

That noise you can hear when you’re spinning the shaft is the internals of the diff. It’s normal to hear them when you’re spinning the driveshaft, although it does sound particularly loud in the videos.

I didn't really notice anything whilst driving to be honest. Maybe a very slight rotational noise, but nothing to suggest something was wrong. It wasn't until I was rolling into the drive with no load that the noise seemed off.

And it drove perfectly,

I'll try and take some video from in the car.

The only thing I can think is that the box needs some more oil. I bought 3 bottles but they're only 0.94 litres each, and the box requires 3.1 litres. With a small amount of spillage with it being tricky to access there's probably 2.7 litres in there plus any left over. I didn't expect this to be an issue short term and had intended on picking up another bottle

Couple videos from in the car. Hard to hear the noise with the engine at higher revs. But can her the noise when at low revs and speed.

Any thoughts mate? Volume need to be pretty loud to hear the humming noise.

The gearbox on my mr2 sounded similar, just much louder and that ended up being the main bearings, hence me thinking the box is goosed. I'm just confused why it would happen after putting in the Redline stuff.

Sorry mate - busy few days!

Well yeah that’s not sounding very good in that 2nd video. Can definitely hear a continuous thud when you’re coasting.

It sounds like it’s got some internal issues I’m afraid.

No worries mate, I just thought you may of missed it.

I guess once the weather starts to warm up i'll look to pull it all apart, and ship it off to be rebuild.... well depending on cost anyway.

I know it's difficult to access pricing without opening it up. But what do you usually charge for a rebuild these days? I can drop off and collect as I'm only in Nottingham (assume lockdown restrictions are lifted), once i get it removed.
