Weird TomTom SatNav problem

My friend Claire and I swapped cars (Claire has a 23 reg Puma hybrid) to do mock tests today and each took our own sat nav (mines a TomTom start 52 and hers is also a TomTom but a slightly later model I think?).

I plugged mine into the USB socket in Claire’s car (the same one she uses with her satnav) and all it did was continuously reboot. Luckily I had a power bank that I used.

At the end when we swapped back Claire said that her sat nav did exactly the same thing in my car!

Got any bright ideas as to why this happened?

So both sat navs had the same fault but in the others car? and then afterword's both are working again in the original car? - So one car hasnt fried both sat navs?

On a side note, I didn't know people still used standalone sat navs 😂

Yep, exactly that. It was very strange. Both working absolutely fine in original vehicles!

We use standalone satnavs as it’s the same as the ones used on test and also can program and record specific routes.

For general personal use I just use my phone and Google.

Assuming the cables are the same just try swapping over the actual units and use the cable that is already in the car?

It’s deffo weird though.
