Best before dates on detailing products?

Hi all,

I presume it's a 'thing' like most fluids and chemicals - that they have a shelf life? Started a clear-out recently of accumulated crap over the years and remembered that I have quite a few shelved bottles of waxes, polishes and various other cleaning fluids.

I know for sure that I've not bought any in the last 3 to 4 years. Is it worth just binning the lot and not hoarding all this crap?

Cheers.

I'm pretty sure it's just a con by 'Big Detailing' to make you spend more money, I've used waxes, polishes etc that were years old loads of times with no ill effects.

I've got some paint sealant (Poorboys world EX-P) I must have bought in about 2012 that I used the other day, was still totally fine and my paint hasn't fallen off

I was wondering the exact same the other day. I've got shelves of stuff I bought 10-15 years ago and was just gonna throw it all as I'm having a garage clear out.

Loads of stuff I bought off @imprezaworks that I've never even used and never will. Can I f**k be arsed cleaning a car these days haha

Generally most detailing products last forever, if its a polish it just needs shaking to remix.

I had a spray on sealant go off bizarelly after a few years though so never say never. Use it, bin if it applies funny etc
