What's your favourite pointless expense?
I noticed my car was running a little rough, so I replaced all my spark plugs and all my injectors, and every gasket used during that process
It still ran like s**t so I assumed it was either exhaust leak, collapsed catalytic converter, or lambda sensors. So I replaced/fixed all of the above and it now runs like a dream.
While I was thinking about the exhaust, I started imagining that my engine/gearbox mounts were absolutely fucked and had therefore caused an exhaust leak which was causing the poor running.
As yet I have not fitted the engine and gearbox mounts but they're my favourite purchases.
What are your favourite unnecessary purchases? Things that you thought would make a massive difference but in hindsight didn't, or you fixed the problem before fitting the parts you thought were at fault?
