I always seem to have trouble putting films onto disc to view via a DVD players

I am running nero 7.5

look for a program called DVD santa. its fairly well known and seems to be the pick of the bunch. it takes ages to encode to dvd format (as they all do) but it works!!!

What are the 3 digit file extensions? .iso? .vob/.ifo/.bup.

While we are on topic can you split a large avi file say 1.3 gig onto two video cds? Nero doesn't like it and I usually recode them to mpeg or something similar.

File extensions can be more then 3 Letters, Also ".iso,.vob,.bup" are letters not digits

Yeah, download VirtualDub and follow this guide....

use WinAVI, fastest ive tried.

compared to DivXToDVD

DivX was converting a 45 minute show in 1 hour 10 minutes at 32 FPS
WinAVI was doing the same show in 24 minutes at around 45 FPS

plus winavi batches. pm me for the link to winavi if you want it

Does WinAVI encode 5.1 audio though? I thought it didn't although I may be wrong.
