OK i run my tank down to like 70-80 miles, then if i put £30 worth of pertol in it, its full and the pump starts clicking.

ive been told (Paul) that this isnt right and the car should hold more.

Hold 50 litres . If i run mine low i only ever manage to get about 40 litres in when i fill it up .

The fuel gauge under reads by quite a bit i've discovered. Even with the fuel light on i'll struggle to get more than 40l in.

50 litres is the official capacity. In £ that would be approx 50 * 0.9 ;)

I'd take fuel needle readings with a pinch of salt...

(cue 100 miles to a tenner crew)

From nearly empty - I mean fuel lights been on for nearly 20 miles empty, I put in about £43 (Price @ 89.9p litre)

Bear in mind that it's a 50 litre (11 gallon) tank in the 182 -
so as an example:- To fill it from dry, it would take £44.95 est to fill @ 89.9p

With under 30 miles left cost me average £40 to fill to top in V-Power, but petrol prices have gone down lately, used to be bit more than that.

Wonder how much weeman pays in Holland.

so running it down to like 60-70 miles and the tank being full at £30 is normal???

When you fill your tank is it coming out the top and switching the pump off? Im sure you should get more than £30's worth in there.

Only one way to find out and thats run your 182 till the fuel light comes on then fill it full.

Their plain unleaded is prob a lot cheaper than v-power, so i reckon that's right. You wanna upgrade to v-power though mate... it's worth it imo

Just try filling up from empty with v-power one day and see if you notice the difference. What do you get for these points then?

Most I've ever put in is 45 litres... I remember it because I had 30 miles left on the trip computer, I put my foot down and suddenly I had no miles left... which was a bit worrying. I then drove the rest of the route as slowly as possible in the highest gear possible. Still got the reciept in my wallet. I must have been seriously close to having no fuel left...

Approx £35-£40 depending how dry the tank is and what fuel.

Most i've ever got in it is 44 litres.

Bang on £40 the other day with Vpower.

Back to S-burys 97 next time as I can't tell any difference! Except on idle where it's much smoother than when I got it (4 months) since it's been run 100% on 97/98

I still don't understand the Clio trip computer. Renault stipulate that it holds 50 litres or 11 gallon's so why the hell does the fuel light come on a 9 gallons, and say 40 miles to fill up if there is still 2 gallons remaining? Stupid things! Anyway, costs me around £37-40 to fill.

Tyson.

  Megane Mk4
You keep forgetting one thing Tyson......

It's a RENUALT ;) When does it ever run 100% right? lol

I've had mine come on at 1/4 tank showing, it's usually the speed you go round bends, it confuses the gauge into thinking it's empty when all it's done is all the petrol has moved over to one side of the fuel tank.

The most I've ever got in with the fuel light on was just over £40 worth when Optimax (as was) was a pound a litre.

Weeman..

  MY10 R35 GTR
when the petrol lights on to put it to the brim its always about 40ls plus.

from memory

  406 passion wagon..
Remeber the trip computer is an overall average for the use of the tank. E.g. you could have driven 200miles @ 35mpg then thrashed it for 50miles etc and the computer still reports 33mpg or similar, it's pretty accurate but shouldn't be relied on..

Most i've put in is 43ltrs, I go on the fact there's about 30miles left after the light comes on..

  LY 200
About £35 on on 91.9p per litre v-power.

Your not far out dependent on what your putting in and at what cost!?

I squeezed in 48.4 litres the other day.

I had to, I got caught short before (no Shell garage within reach) and had to put a splash of toss supermarket sludge in and wanted to get as much of it out as possible before giving it a proper feed with V-Power.
