Want More Speed And Bhp From Ya 16v

Car  clio
Hi Every1, I Hav A 1.8 16v Engine In 1.4 Sport Shell

Its Ruinning 134 Bhp

Want More Bhp, Its Completly Standard Engine

Wots Best Mods I Can Do For Cheapist Cash

Can Any1 Help Me, Cheers

de-cat pipes are good for the money think they're about £20
also eko-tek valves about £60
dunno how much a chip would be but that would make a good increase
have a look on ebay theres always good mods for 16vs on there some quite cheap 2

^ Ignore that numb nut (cliocrazy86)

Ecotek valves, electric superchargers, resistors claiming +20bhp are shite, period, end of.

A decat (more likely £60-80) will help your engine to a degree, but still not going to produce massive amounts of gains by itself. Basically the game is getting as much air and fuel into the engine in the correct ratio as you can, thats bhp for you.

But what 1.8 is it you have? RSI engine?

best mod is a 2.0 bottom end from a Williams or Megane, then do the breathnig mods etc... that's basically the biggest gain you will see, makes a massive difference

haha numbnut?? i suggest u go on ebay and look ive seen de-cat pipes go for £20 (why would i have said it otherwise) besides if u'd have cared to notice he sais he has a 1.8 16v so how is that an rsi! but i wouldnt listen 2 me im a numb nut! and if an eko-tek valve or a chip dont put more fuel and air in what does!! the eko-tek valve vaporises ur fuel and allows more in so its a cleaner burn meaning more POWER and a chip tells ur ecu to let more fuel and air in! so how is this numbnut wrong?? and if ur so keen on putting lots of fuel and air in why did u agree on the de-cat pipe all that does is reduce air restriction???

an eco-tek valve does nothing, end of story, no arguing about it

oh and for the benifit of mikey a k+n airfilter would be good too also a cam breather these arent to expensive but if ur mechanically minded i agree with jesus on the 2.0 bottom end u could prob pick one up from a scrap yard but be carefull what ur buying

eco-tek valves are shite, make funny noises and make no difference.

of the shelf chip isnt brilliant, do all your mods then get a proper remap on a rolling road or live mapped on the road, much much better

also a K&N open filter will just suck in hot air and loose you power, you want a closed filter or just a pannel filter in your standard airbox

ok sorry i might be wrong about the eko-tek valve as i have never fitted one all i know is what they are supposed to do but am i wrong about the other stuff??? did i really deserve to be called a numbnut???

Yes you do.

Someone asks for advice, and you're recommending them (a useless) ecotek valve based on marketing bullsh1t, and open IK? Do you also subscribe to Revs per chance?

Now be a goodboy and go rub deepheat on your face :)

yea ok sorry bout that but niether was lose weight or drill holes in ur airbox and a max power tail pipe! why go on at me is this how u treat new people

your just gutted ozzy coz i made u look a fool!!! all i was trying to do was be helpfull to this guy!! who sais he woulda took my advise? who should get blazed for that??

ok martin good point mukka but all i was doin was tryin 2 enlighten the convo sayin lotsa salt n vinigar on the chip would be better! i think a few people need to go loose some weight and LIGHTEN UP A LITTLE

The point im making is, don't promote products or things you know nothing about, sure you have good intentions, but bad advice based on Max Power reviews overall isn't helpful.

Hows that deep heat coming on?

quite good for my complex actually lol! ok your right and i treat this as a lesson learnt but only if u admit u asked a very silly question ozzy like what 1.8 engine do u have? rsi? when it clearly states 16V! and the rsi is infact an 8V?

nice one!!! i have a thread a little lower down than this one if anyone cares to look i am havin problems with my car! and would like ur expert opinions please hope to see ur posts on there...

I think you have insecurity issues.

Also if you look at the question I posed that you keep making an issue of, you will see it is in fact harbouring 2 question marks.

Given the OP initial post which is lacking in detail I thought best that establishing the engine he's dropped into it before offering advice, people give incorrect details about their cars, just like you give flakey advice.

I'm done with this anyway, ruined this guys thread completely, apologies.
