Clio rsi tuning

Just wondering what gains can be had from the 1.8 8v rsi engine really and what work is needed to get the gains and whats the most power you get get from the engine turbo'd or n/a?? any help appreciated

apparently the Volvo 440 Turbo engine is basically the same, just with a turbo. Sounds like fun!

Alternatively, Hillpower modified my RSi, had the head and cam done, fuelling altered to suit, and it was very nippy. You could feel the difference afterwards. Never got it RR'd though!

there are alot of things u can do to it, I got a K&N induction kit to make it more beefy sounding, also got a straight through zorst with 4" back box (but gonna return it to std zort and a De cat I got off Lunar on here), managed to get a super chipped ECU as well....

u'll be suprised how many bits from a 16v go into making up the RSi...

440 turbo? will that go on the RSi engine with some re mapping? hummm.... sounds good, need to recerch it...

Hmmm turbo. Its already got an i.k with it with de-cat, cat back exhuast. It might have cams aswell but will get it rr'd to confirm. As for the turbo... hmmm. Rsi engine is 100cc more then the Volvo lump tho

Same block realy yhtouh all the stuff should fit turbo etc just got the issue of high compression the Valvo engine doesn't haven.
1.8 16V or 2.0 is a better tunning option.

Why would you need the change the bonnet to fit a 16v engine?

My RSi has a S/S exhaust, de-cat, custom hill power I/K and has been chipped... had it RR'd at hill power a few weeks ago and it only made 111.6 BHP at the flywheel which is around standard power!
If your looking into headwork, fast road cam, and a remap this has made some RSi's upto about 135bhp, but youll be looking at spending atleast £1200, it will be far more cost effective to stick a F7R engine in (2.0L 16V)

As for the vovlo turbo conversion has been talked about a few times, and from what ive read it isnt really worth it, you will need a custom loom made to match clio - volvo parts, a custom down pipe made, and then your still only making just over standard power compared to the RSi.

You can make it fit and use the normal none bulged bonnet.
