my car

  Nissan 370Z
is so slow! it only just managedto keep up with a totally standard 1.2 corsa. i know its so so pointless tuning but i have it for 2 years till i get a 172 or something similar and other than an engine conversion i want to know what i can do.
dont know anything about inlet matching and throttle bodies or wateva so please give me some advice.
thanks

Id say a closed induction kit from hill power 130 and and exhaust from powerflow. 300ish not worth doing much more to a 1.2 unless your rich. Maybe try and get a pre written map for your car. They are not as good as a full remap. But i think hill power charge 35 for it. Then another 35 to match it to any new mods they fit. Check the website.

im getting a viper induction of j6 of here with a custom air feed. then hoping for a powerflow exhaust with a sports cat....hopefully cliobon will sell his to me!
whats all this inlet matching and who is fairly close to colchester that could do me a remap?
cheers

well i did warn you before you bought it you should have bought a 1.4 for the same price ;) You wont keep up with a corsa, if its the facelift shape as they have 80bhp.

Tbh, the biggest difference was made by my viper and custom feed, if you can get that back it'll feel much more fun

You could also try a ecotek valve i has one on my first car which was a 1.4i l reg corsa and it really works. What it does is reduces the flat spots when changing gear so keeps the revs up. Check the web site which is
http://www.ecotekvalve.co.uk/
honestly they do work for smaller engined cars not so sure with the bigger engines not tried

if yours is a 1.2 16v they have got alot of torque for a small engine. mate of mine has one and hes put a de-cat straight through exhaust and a pipercross on goes like s*it of a shoval honestly

Where abouts do you fit this ecotek valve. Is it hard to fit, does anyone know?

An e value will not do anything. It lets a little more air in. It agitates the air but it will not agitate it in the combustion chamber which is where it matters. They are useless. Inlet matching will allow air to flow in more smootly and give you more torque

^ so far mate ecotek valves dont work on clios, from what i've heard
Yep they are pure shite. i had one on my 1.2 (i didnt fit it btw it came with the car) and now i have a 2.0 litre engine(no ecotek valve) the mpg is better on this than the 1.2 was.

middo, will inlet matching or a remap be worth it?
cheers

not on a 1.2. Just get the viper with custom feed and you'll feel the difference, pulls throughout the range much better. Sports cat and exhaust didnt make THAT much difference for the cost, but i bought it purely for the sound it makes anyway

  RB 182 Cup
my 1.2 is quicker then 1.2 sxi corsas, 1.1 facelift saxos, and is right up the arse of my mates 1.6 focus :D

  Chocolate Bar™
being up the arse of a 1.6 focus is nowt to be proud of, they're slow as shite ;). and as for the 1.2 corsa, yours must just be a fast one because i'm driving around in one at the mo (courtesy car) and on 10,000 miles its still loads quicker than my clio ever was, and i'd spent a grand on performance mods on that

1.1 saxo's are suprisingly quick if you rev the b****cks of them. My clio 1.2 16v is slower than Corsa sxi's (all my mates have them), slower than a 1.25 Fiesta Zetec too. They sure aren't quick.
