Its calipers, the brake pads are the black bits you can see in the caliper.

Your best bet is spraying or painting them, I did mine at the weekend with heat resistant spray. There's also places like http://www.biggred.co.uk/ that will refurbish them and powdercoat the colour.

Thanks mate great help :D

Do i just send mine off and they will paint them etc the colour i want ?

How much and how long will it take or am i better off doing them myself

Did mine myself, its a piece of piss hardest part is getting the wheels off. I've used hammerite silver smooth as a lot of people on here have and i've had no problems. You can either take the calipers off and paint them like that or be lazy and be careful and paint them insitue.

Yeah Halfords does it just go in and ask mate.

It is quite a time consuming job to do it well I think.

Halfruads sell loads of different colours, they do a caliper paint which costs about twice as much as the hammerite btw so look around for it first.

Redid mine this morning as it took me about half an hour, only bit that takes time is if you putting a million and one coats on as you have to wait for it to dry before you can paint over it. Though I just waited about 30 mins and boshed another coat over it in the heat this morning.

Halfords not open now ?

Its a nice day to do them

Im thinking yellow shall i get yellow in hammermite or what ever it is called ?

Can anyone tell a step by step guide on how to do it

Thanks

I thought you had to sand it down with a million different types of paper etc...

Sam

Nah not with calipers, you're hardly after a panel finish.

I think some halfords are open today, ours is I think.

Well I just clean the crap off the calipers with a wire brush then paint them basically.

Do you spray it on or apply with a pad or brush?

How much does the paint cost?

Thanks

Sam

Tin and brush here, a tin of hammerite and a 1/2" brush was about a tenner. They do a spray as well but you'd need to mask everything off which is far too much effort for me.

Halfords is open till 5pm so im going up there now get a few bits cleaning products aswell as its 3 for 2 lol

What colour shall i go for ?

My car is silver ?

Im thinking of getting my badges done the same colour :D

I would say go for Black.

The thing is you will look silly if its a bright colour as the back are only drum brakes.
