172 steering rack

is the steering rack on the ph1 172 the same as any other models?
i understand the subframe is the same on all mk2 clios but isn't there a slight difference for the extra mount the sport has?

No its not, the steering racks in the sport Clios are different, they are re-engineered and stronger. Im not sure of the exact differences tbh but they are different.

they're way different in terms of lock to lock. sports don't do mini roundabouts!

I'd have thought so. They are certainly different to non sport models as these are electric PAS, as opposed to hydrolic (sp) on the sports

Subframe on the sports has a bit of extra strenghting and a few holes for the 4th engine mount but thats it.,

Yep rack is swoppable.

You don't need the 4th gearbox mount some hybrids run without it but for the extra effort might as well use it only need to drill 3 holes in the subframe realy.

You can use the none Rs subframe though.
