This is a great result???
All rolling roads read at the wheels.
Manufacturers claimed power figures are at the flywheel so adjust accordingly.
A 197 should give 160/165 at the wheels equating to 197 at the fly.
Please everybody stop thinking that your car makes the manufacturers quoted figure ie 172/182/197 at the wheels. They don't!!!
These are flywheel figures!
Have I mentioned that these figures are at the fly and not the wheels???

If you're talking about the 182 graph then 163bhp at the wheels is very good. 163bhp at the flywheel would be really bad. :dapprove:

Yeah ive heard of a few people who pump their tyres up before they get them rr to make the power come out more!! Whats the point in cheating? :S
I'm looking forward to Saturday now and see what power my car has - still less than 2,000 miles on the clock though

Right couldn't get the 197 rolling roaded yesterday, so booked in again for next saturday, however, i need to know the following:
The gear ratio of the 197 and/or the direct gear which is 1:1;
and also the diff ratio of the 197.
Also the above of a meggy 225 if anyone knows?
If anyone knows the above or knows where to find out that would be great... tried renault uk and dealers and they couldn't find it out

Put mine on yesterday:
Some people reckoned it was over reading, but lots of cars were getting their stock figures, or sometimes less, even so pretty pleased with the result.
OCUK RR day by any chance?
A lot of the results seemed very optimistic imo.

take those results with a pinch of salt. 134bhp @ the wheels equals 203bhp @ the fly? I work it out at around 158bhp, which is really really poor, as my Williams completely standard made that power :S
Don't see how a lot of them were, EK9 CTR made 185bhp, 530 bmw made 230bhp.
I do doubt it IS 203bhp, but it's hardly down on power, and it's the ATW figures which should be taken with a pinch of salt as they are always very low at powerstation rollers.
Was sort of half expecting this aswell but there we go, such is life
the ATW figures are always more accurate than the flywheel ones as they are pure guesswork. poorly operated RR imo, as either the 197 is drastically down on power or they dont know what they are doing, but 134bhp is very very poor... unless its a 4WD Clio 197 of course, then its making good power lol

I had my valver RR'd there too (infact I was there yesterday too - dunno if you saw me parked up outside ). I got something like 67atw and 143atf
so yeh, their atw figures are screwed.
I don't trust dynos either, but it was a fun day out and at least I can prove the 'power' down the pub
Also, I think ChrisR in the 172 was down on power from last time, despite some inlet manifold work...

Last time the rollers were definitely over reading by approx 7%, could tell this by the number of standard cars hitting well above stock figures. Octavia 1.8t hitting over 200bhp?? I dont think so
This time however everything made pretty much as expected, so the 197 figure is confusing, although I was wondering if the gearing had anything to do with it.
I hit 183 the first time I was there (which is approx 170 after you take the 7% off) and this time hit a fraction under 180. I'm not doubint it's too high but I'd be guessing 175ish, so up on last time in reality. Wasnt expecting massive power gains from the manifold, what it has done is smooth the torque curve. You can see on robs that it's quite "judery", mine was like this last time but with the new manifold the curve is smooth rather than having all the little pits/peaks as well as the main shap of the curve, if that makes sense!
Their ATW figures are well out, something to do with how they calculate the fly figures. Personally I'd rather see an accurate ATW figure as that's what counts

Here's a link ot the jpg of my 183bhp run (that figure was a joke, all the other guys there were like "yeah my car's so powerful"!), if you check the torque line you can see that it's all wobbly when it's tracking the main curve, hard to explain but if oyu look at it you'll see

yeah, it says corrected which is a lower figure than what you run on the day usually as it's meant to be a figure that no matter what the weather or other outside changes are it remains the average. Most usually make more from RR days I've been on with the corrected figure being a fair bit lower.
Doesn't matter anyway, the wheel and flywheel figures aren't even remotely realistic or accurate... i know RR's aren't wholly accurate anyway but that's hilarious
