Powerflex gearbox mount from K-Tec fitted (pics)

Fitted them at work, the use of the press was needed to push out the old Renault bushes from the aluminium housing. Other than that was a piece of piss.

Engine vibrations and noise are felt and heard alot more inside the car but its only noticable when at a stand still on tick over.

Gear change and clutch pedal are greatly improved, and acceleration feels better.

Just thought I would say what I thought. Im sure other people have done it, be interesting to hear what they think.

Is that a fact or do you actually know your stuff? Its not sposed to look good, jus sposed to save the exhaust manifold and other parts that are put under stress when the engine moves under acceleration. There are only 2 other engine/gearbox mounts.

Yeah, it puts more stress/strain on the other 2 mounts as that allows little to no play, ie they die quicker.

If it was that worn you'd of noticed better gear change, better clutch operation and better acceleration with a genuine mount, and not have a vibrating car.

Edit- technically theres the gearbox to subframe bush so more than 2 in a way

It wasnt that worn out in the first place. Cars only done 18K.

Ill jus replace the other mounts when they wear out, and if they wear out far to quick ill put the O.E bushes back in the gearbox mount.

Otherwise its all good, and feels better!

Yeah I wasn't saying they're 'bad' they're a good idea just ashame they cause the vibration through the car though, Renault bushes aren't that bad if you compare them to say, Ford Fiesta wishbone bushes.

If you like it then its spot on!

Do Ktec sell uprated Lag2 rear axle bushes?

I just fitted the Powerflex bushes throughout. Do feel vibration at idle but time will tell with engine mounts...done 15.5k currently.

you needed a press to get the out? i fitted mine at work just held the mount on the edge of the bench and 1 tap of a hammer had it out
i needed a press to get the fookers in though !!

Well, I jus used the press as i thought that was the best thing and it was just there. Was useful for both taking out an putting in bushes.

dont know about you but i dont think i'd have got the bushes in without the press maybe if you jumped on it it may have slotted in to place but would have been difficult.

I didnt find them so hard to get in, the O.E ones were the worse, but as you say they werent that bad.
