Now the bad bits. Either I didn’t spot this or I’ve been very unlucky on the drive home

IMG_0990.jpeg

The paint is not that good and I think that’s why I’m a bit annoyed. I expected it to be pretty much factory finish having a 6k paint job 3 years ago. There’s a lot of raised dots on the boot lid, roof and rear quarter.
Tom said he’s not noticed them before but knowing the attention to detail in the other thread I’m not sure how he didn’t

Overall the car is really nice, I'd be more than a bit annoyed if the seller has misrepresented it, especially if you've specifically asked for pics/info of 'the bad bits' , I'm not taking the piss here, but did you collect it in the dark?

Blisters in the paint looks like solvent pop, which is likely seeing how thick the peeled back paint around the black trim is.. that plus the cracked filler in the rear arch isn't going to be cheap to put right. Can you live with it?

I collected in the dark, was really limited with the trains and collecting was a nightmare . He said it was all perfect so I expected it to be. Wasn’t cheap !

Not sure I can live with it - still undecided

Yeah that’s not ideal. If the blisters were in one isolated location i can see perhaps how it can be missed.

Not sure how you can miss if it’s on the panels you mentioned above.

That wing is a proper shitter.

Offt, I’d be absolutely furious and gutted. But would likely just deal with it and suck it up as I hadn’t spotted on collection.

If the previous owners been great to deal with what’s he offered to do about it? Or has he told you to suck it up?

Tbh I’ve showed him the photos and he just said he’s not noticed it before.

I did spot some of the paint issues in the dark but he didn’t really offer much solution.

That’s such a downer, the pics in the advert looked immaculate 😕

I know . I thought it would all be so nice that it wouldn’t matter collecting in the dark so much.

100% agree, when you could eat your dinner from the engine bay or rear axle you kind of feel every aspect of the car would be in order.

Front wing will be easy enough switched out and the peeling paint could be built up and pretty much hidden. Is the bubbling limited to 1 area ?

The peeling paint actually looks a lot worse than it is. It’s a very small area.

The bubbling is 3 areas that I can see. I might get a quote to sort it out.

Then again I might just sell it on as it, warts and all

Could have had my inferno for £3k and I’d have told you about all the s**t bits 😬😂

That’s really s**t though, especially if it’s all not been taken into consideration in the price. Total lie not to have noticed. It’s a clio not a massive Boeing 747!!

Fair play if he got 11k for that, about double its actual worth imo, but he's a top bellend saying he never noticed the paint defects, he knew about them all!

Is that paint or has it been wrapped? Not seen paint rip/tear like that before. If it’s paint I’m assuming it was put on while still to wet but would have thought it would have keyed to the surface better underneath. Also the bit with the bubbles is that all paint? Have seen paint react with filler before and cause bubbles, too much moisture or the dreaded r word.

Also there’s no way that the damage wasn’t know about. Mines rough as but I know where all the damage is.

It’s just weird. Such a massive expensive job was done to strip the entire car down and so much attention to detail and then just accept that? I don’t get it

Lovely motor. My understanding of the car is that it was used on track? I’d have expected worse than that, to be honest. Looks like the tyres bounced off a kerb and hit the arch. Fairly soft spring setup, so quite possible that’s what’s happened. My track cars were rough bodywork-wise but the fundamentals were always sound, which is what counts. If you’re tracking the car, just leave it as it is. Otherwise, get it tidied up. Nice purchase.

The wheel incident was before the rebuild , I think that’s what prompted it.
