what to check for?

hi there,under hard exceleration my ph1 172 pulls from left to right around 5k rpm as if somebody else is steering,normal driving is fine even at high speeds,steering wheel is central and car goes striaght so i expect tracking to be ok,tyre pressures are set at 32psi.any ideas what i should be looking/ checking for?

Check abll joint and stearing erack for play.

Also get the tracking checked.

Id say its completly normal, it's torque steer. Its a good sign the engine is still pulling strong, Ive test drove 172s that didnt feel as fast and didnt torque steer. If it is really bad/uncontrolable then check the driveshafts and engine mounts first.

"Torque steering is the influence of the engine torque on the steering for some front-wheel drive vehicles. For example, during full acceleration the steering may pull to one side, which may be disturbing to the driver. This either causes a tugging sensation in the steering wheel, or else the car veers from the intended path. As the Torque Steer Effect is directly related to the engine torque capabilities this problem becomes more and more evident with high output engines with strong low rpm range torque."

I don't care unfortnatly just shows how sad I am.

But since I'm into maths stastically its 365 days till I catch Tom up when we will both be on 27257 posts. However its likly to be much quicker. At present looks more like a coulpe of months. I realy need to get out more.
