help with tyre pressure/tyres??? PLZ

right then i got some new goodyear F1's on the back and ever since the car is not as good on the twistys:dapprove: feels unstable, like the side wall in not stiff (i had contisports b4 which where fine) i thought they was a bit flat but..

ive done about 200 miles (so should be worn in) and checked the pressure 3 times 2.3 frt and 2.1 back (in bar) same as i have always had

anyone had this prob with f1's?

but i was thinkin can i put a bit more air in the back wheels? if so how much and will this make a diffrence, for better or worse?

You can put more pressure in the back. 2.1 bar's about 30/32psi?? :S Go to about 34 and see how that feels. Are the tyres standard size or have you uprated them? Cause obv the pressure would change. But try adding a few more psi and see if that makes a difference. The only problem is when you increase the pressure by too much, you will suffer from centrifugal wear on the tyres (basically wearing more in the middle of the tread than the outside).
You shouldnt notice that much of a diff between the two tyres, they're both branded. Obv the contis are better, but like I say, the difference shouldn't be that noticeable. They are fitted right?!? lol...hope this helps a little...

as far as i know they are fitted right, balanced and all that:S i thought that the f1's would be as good if not better then the contis, but dont seem to be

so i'll put in about 34psi give that a try! so the only bad thing would be wearing out quicker?

yeah pretty much. But only usually in the centre of the tread if it's over inflated. So if doesn't wear there but wears evenly, that's another sign of correct tyre pressure. lol, OR, opt for a 4 wheel alignment check? That might make a bit of difference.
The conti's are a better branded tyre than Goodyear, still made the same and everything, you're just more likely to get more miles out of conti than a Goodyear.
I know it sounds stupid, and shouldn't really make a difference, but correct me if I'm wrong, but the contisports are an assymetric pattern, whereas the F1s are a rotational. again, shouldnt make a difference, but you never know!!

yer think so, ive checked that they are on the right way so should be ok! looks like i should of just payed the extra £20 a wheel for the pe2's:S or just stayed with the conti's (but dint see them on mytyres??) i heared good things about the f1's so just thought they would be nothing in it

My mate on his Impreza said the same when they are new.

I've got another problem with my front suspension at the moment, but it does get better when they wear in a bit more.

I wouldn't go above 32psi in the rears, more like 30psi will work much better.

34psi will make it worse.
