stupid engine mods and insurance

  C63 AMG, F430 & 172
i am (will be when its finished) 21 years old with 1 year NCB

and 6 points

the clio 172 will be on about 4000miles per year limited millage

but will be highly modifed. charged/ lots of other mods. around 400hp.

there are also many many other mods,

could i class this as a kitcar. as theres only the shell left?

if not how much would you think to insure?

if its too much ill track it for a year then insure it next year

I'm assuming this will be charged and with bodies and forged internals? I think you're going to struggle to insure it if you haven't had modified car policies before on something high powered. That's the problem I had anyway, but I'm also older and have 8 years NCD... I think you may be paying the best part of £2-3k though, even on limited miles... may get lucky somewhere though...

doubt you can insure it as a kit car too... is worth a try though

try adrian flux and see what they say as a quote and that would probably be a good base line. they dont charge extra for visual mods, i.e wheels, bodykits, tints. but they do charge for any item that increases performance.

there is no way in hell you will insure that at your age with 1 ncb for £1500!! more like somewhere between 2-3k as said (if at all)

  Clio MK 4
i pay 760 quid with just alloys and full s/s system declared. and im 21 with 3 yrs ncb.

i think yours might be 2k or so
