PC Bench Test?

What's a good PC bench testing program?

I've searched google & the forum, however I've not come across anything that strikes me as any good.

I just want a general overall test.

Any recommendations?

I've always based mine on games i.e. if my favourite game will play with high to max settings then it's all good.

A screen full of figures doesn't seem to mean much. You could have a low benchmark compared to thousands of other people, yet your machine does everything you need it to in a quick enough time frame.

3D Mark is the only benchmark program I can think of really, based at gamers more than anything.
