question for any paint experts

im needing a tailgate and back-panel resprayed. and im buying the paint.

its just one side of the tailgate though.

is 1 litre of paint enough? im buying from autopaint.co.uk because ive been told they are generally the best and cheapest.

yes plenty,base coat or direct gloss will make more than 1ltr when mixed depending on mixing ratio,

ok.. should i be buying base coat or gloss?

the surface is being primed already. and im assuming the tailgate will be needing laquered after painting?

go for base coat, make sure your primer is 2k primer....let it dry then sand it down wit 1500 grit till its smooth

at this point make sure the primer is covering all parts of the tailgate - if nto re do it and re sand

then leave to dry for a few days

then fire the base coat on, and leave for about 20 mins and laquer over. if there is runs in the base then leave to dry, sand before lacquer!
