WHERE TO GET CHEAP/GOOD TYRES

Duno if this is in right section :S but here it goes.

Does anyone know where i can get a good deal on 2 Front tyres for ma wee clio 172 ?

It has Continental Sport Contacts on the front the now on 195/45's with a V Rating and wouldn't mind something similar quality or better.

Have been looking at Toyos,Good Year F1's, Falken and Yoko 539's.

Looked at Michelin Pilots as well but they were well overpriced nearly 100 quid a tyre

But don't know what to get

Must be a well soft compound..

I was gonna try Camskill and mytyres.co.uk
(But don't know who'd fit them as i thought some places would be choosy when fitting tyres as i never bought them from them ?

But wandered if anyone knew if there was anyone local in Aberdeen doing good deals before i looked further afield.

Cheers

Cheap & good in the same sentence never works.

Replace the contis, i never had any worries with them.

Some of the other you mention are crap.

Blackcircles.com, you buty the tyres from them and they are sent to a local blck circles fitter.

Think Contis will be your best bet. Miches are expensive but should last the longest. GSD3's are my tyres of choice but are being discontinued and as they are still in demand the prices are either staing the same or increasing.

  Mondeo TXS Bardge.
ive found nation al tyres to be pretty decent price and service, they will also beat any like for like quote. they quoted me £70 a corner for continental premium contacts vlaved balanced and fitted, which was really good, but i went for the slightly cheaper option of Barum somethings, 60 a corner, and they are made by continental and so far have been good. but you have a faster motor than my 1.2, so the avons they do might be alright.
they also for by one get one free on some tyres. for if you get bogof on a £140 tyre your quids, in.
The ones round my way dont even try ot ripp you off like quick fit, they'll tell you if you need to replace the tyre or not an even will guesstimate howlong your current tred will last, (they wont put in in writting obvioulsly but im my experince its been really accurate)

you could also try e-tyre.com, they seem pretty reasonable, and they fit the tyres in your drive way or at work, ballanced and every thing. by GF's bro swears by them. i dunno what the coverage is like in aberdeen but if they can get onto kinloss airforce base to replace the tyres on his golf they can probably get anywhere.

Cheers Guys,

Just thinking would i have any advantages if i fitted 205/45 16's on my rims instead of 195's ?

Or would my wheels (they're standard 172ff ones) rub on front and back suspension ?

I know they cost more as well but is it worth the extra pennies ?

dont think they would fit on the alloys and no its not worth the extra money... your looking at £30 extgra a corner

Anyone got views on Kumho Ecsta's ?

Or Fulda's
Never heard of them

Both budgets.

Please, please dont get budgets on a performance car. Have to deal with no end of insurance complaints from budget tyres on performance cars and i just send them straight back saying the tyres were unfit for purpose.

They are a false economy anyway, a branded tyre should last at least twice as long as a budget tyre.

Toyo proxies can be had cheap and are a cheap midrance tyre, i wouldn't use anything less personally.

  Clio MK2 (1.2)
iv got Kumoh tyres on mine at the moment, are they expensive? as i usually go for Barum's because at £38 i cant resist :)

  Suzuki SV650
205 45 16's will fit, i'm needing two new tyres very soon too. have had pe2's before but didn't find them all that. conti's are ok at the moment, always have been. but not 100% sure what to go for.

didn't know we got mytyres discount?!

  Suzuki SV650
i'll take a poke in the eye and 5% please.

nah i guess thats ok.

going to stay standard and get some conti's.

*RIGHT HERES AN UPDATE*

I'm planning to get the tyres some time this week. :)

I'm stuck between

TOYO PROXES T1-S or T1-R or R888
GOODYEAR EAGLE F1
YOKOHAMA A539

Whats everyones views on these tyres ?

As I'll need to order them by Tuesday at latest.

And is it worth the extra money to get 205/45 r16's instead ?
