would soundproofing make my exhaust quieter?

if i were to soundproof my boot area with something would it make my exhaust quieter at all?

its so loud i cant hold a conversation anymore.

if so, whats best to use for soundproofing?

sound proofing the boot will help but it's probably easier just to replace the exhaust system or add another/bigger silencer.

yeah i probably will for the sake of people outside the car anyway.

cover the metal work on the bootfloor etc in DYNAMAT its the best!!!

Yeh a couple of layers on the boot floor will kill the noise a bit, and fix any rattles back there.
