Replacement speedo, but mileage out

I've got a second hand speedo which i trial fitted today. Everything seems to work fine, but apparently the mileage is stored on the actual units, so fitting it would 'add' an extra 24k to my car.

Anyone know if Renault or anyone else would reprogram it to my correct mileage for me? and rough cost?

BTW, it's a mk2 ph1 unit, so electronic.

Marcus.

As far as I'm aware they can't be reprogrammed as it's technically "clocking" the car, might be wrong though.
:(

If they didn't want clocking, they should have stored the mileage with the car not the speedo.

Plenty of mileage correction places about & it's easier for it to be done on an electronic speedo as opposed to a conventional one.

At the end of the day if you get the new clocks to say what the old ones did I don't see a problem.
