172 plugs

hi how many miles before changing plugs 1n a 172 as seems lumpy on tick over or is this normal this is my first renalt as just sold my mgzs180 to get a clio 172 sport

72k i think, there all lumpy on tickover.

yeah 72k, but i changed mine at 60k and they were knackered then. personally they need to be change before 72k

That exactly what i did too changed at 59k and 2 were fooked but 2 were fine?

Can get 4xNGK PFR6E-10 off the 'bay for about 30 sheets, they're about £15 each from the stealers iirc.

mine were changed by renault at 70k and i changed them at 110k and they were fooked as i had a bad missfire,turns out it was the plugs

Yep they're the proper ones at a far lower price than renault charge!

hi just seems abit lumpy on tic over like its got a small missfire but car runs fine and goes well seems like its ticking over too low but you carnt adjust tic over on these cars .gunna do plugs so then i now there ok

Are these definately the correct plugs? I think I need to change mine as my is a bit lumpy @ 52k, plus for £30 it's not exactly an expensive job.

How can you tell if your sparks are knacketed?

Are the sparks simply attached to the end of the black leads as shown in this article http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=250718, and do the sparks need to go on in a certain order?

changed mine at 57,000 were shot, still a bit lumpy on tickover think its to do with the tight emissions.

Yes they are 100% the correct plugs.

I use www.spark-plugs.co.uk and used to have NGK BKR6EIX-11 in mine @ £5.72+vat each. cheap and good service.

I now use higher temp plugs due to engine spec.
