Engine mods on a mkIII 1.5dci (86) ?

Hey Team,

Was wondering if anyone had done any engine mods to a 1.5dci?

I've got a 55plate MkIII 3dr and was thinking of gettting it chipped/mapped.

Just wanted to know what you had done?

I'm interested in any feed back as well, as I have a MKIII 106. Would prefer better mpg..only getting 45mpg

I've looked at Superchips and there gains look good but its £500!!!!

Anyone done anything?

I get 48mpg around town alll day teaching.... on motorway i get 60+ with the same engine...

the 106hp engine is alot harder to chip as it pretty much running max...

You could alway fit a bigger intercooler... ie: off a megan 225 (fit nicely) and run a bit more boost

Try The Derv Doctor my dci has been he got 105bhp from the dci 65 engine . the next plans for mine are injectors from a dci 120 front mount intercooler (FMIC) . already running more boost from tightening actuator up and another remap to match everything up . hope that helps if any 1 has any more ideas please let me know as i am willing to see how far i can push the engine .

I think my engine will improve..it still only has 11k on it. I do a mixture of town driving, which I can get the car into 5th gear at 40mph, and motorway. Never go over 70mph on the motorway. Best mpg I have had is 48mpg. My computer tells me that my average is 58mpg on this tank of diesel, about 400 miles long distance and 80 miles town driving. Will see when I fill up tomorrow.
